Polyester naturally does not retain water, and this product has an additional finish over the poly that gives it a little bit of rain resistance, so if you get caught in a light rain shower, you should be covered and able to stay relatively dry. That being said, if it is a particularly hard downpour the Asics won't keep you entirely dry, but since the materials don't hold water well, you will be sure to dry up rather quickly, getting back to the dry and comfortable jacket you started out with.
The attached hood offers you a decent amount of comfort, mostly in the way of preventing discomfort, as it is going to help keep you dry and keep the wind off your neck if you're heading out in gloomy weather. The drawcord allows you to adjust it as you see fit so you can achieve optimal comfort.
There's a drawcord on the hem of the jacket as well, allowing you to customize how it sits around your waist and place it where you want it. It truly is designed to help you stay nice and comfortable throughout your workout.
As a jacket, you can be sure that it will protect you from the elements. It is wind and rain resistants so that it will shield you from the wet and cold. That being said, this is only moderate protection, so if you are stuck in a torrential downpour or are running in sub-freezing temperatures, you are not going to get the protection you might require. This product, however, is ideal for light rain showers and chilly spring and fall conditions.
The hood and hem feature a drawcord that can be pulled tightly enough to your body so you can prevent wind and water from entering your jacket and chilling you from the inside out. The same goes for the thumb holes and the banded wrist cuffs, and it will help keep your sleeves where they need to be so you aren't letting the elements in that way.
Another great protective feature this jacket offers you is reflective detailing throughout the design of it. It's designed to help make sure you are able to stay seen even if you're heading out on raining and gloomy days. You won't have to worry about others not being able to see you when you take off during low light conditions because the Asics features 360-degree reflectivity to make sure you're visible from any direction. Runners, especially, can appreciate this feature in their apparel.
Customers have stated that the jacket is running true to size so that should take a lot of the guessing out when trying to figure out what you should order for the perfect fit.
The price of this coat is about average when you compare it to some of the other running jackets out there, but it stands out a little thanks to the great features and incredible longevity, making it a pretty sound investment that your bank account will thank you for in the future. Customers do agree that it is a pretty good investment and have implied that they would happily make the purchase again.
As previously mentioned, this product is known to run true to size so you should have no problems figuring out what you should order so you can get the best fit the first time you order. If you aren't sure, however, you can always check out Asics's sizing chart to help you along the way.
Don't let the lightweight construction fool you though. It will still give you a decent amount of protection while you're out and about. It is going to always be able to provide you with wind and rain resistance even though it's made out of thin, light materials.
The jacket features a hood with a drawcord that will let you adjust it as you need so it can stay in place when you're running. Additionally, you will find a drawstring along the hem of the jacket as well to give you personalization in the length and fit of your coat. The sleeves have thumb holes and elastic cuffs so you can be sure to keep them in place while you are out and about and preventing the wind and rainwater from riding up your sleeves cooling you down when you're trying to stay warm and toasty.
You will get a full-zip design so you can get the coat on and off with ease, as well as the ability to control your temperature. If you start to get warm, you can simply open the zipper a bit and let a little air in. If it gets too chilly, you can zip it up and be good to go.
One of the better design features is the fact that it has pockets. It has two hand pockets for you to carry your essentials with you when you head out. Additionally, there is a chest pocket that is ideal for a media player such as your phone. This pocket is also the one you will use when you want to fold your jacket up and store it. It is foldable into its own pocket for ease and convenience when you're traveling.
Of course, you can store the coat in your closet or on a rack as you might with most of your hoodies and zip-ups, however, this one has a rather unique feature, giving you an alternative to hanging it up. It has the ability to be folded up and fit into its own chest pocket, creating a little carrying back. You can easily throw this in your gym bag, your luggage, or hiking pack so that you can take it with you just about anywhere.
That being said, some customers just love the look and feel of the zip up and choose to use it as their go-to jacket for the cooler temperature. It has a great style and is highly durable, which makes it an excellent option for just about anyone.
