Materials

The Asics Accelerate is made out of 100% polyester which is typical for most running jackets. It is a durable material that will not suffer from premature wear and tear. It is going to help increase the overall lifespan of the coat because you aren't going to have to worry about it ripping and tearing easily, even if it gets caught on a tree branch, or anything else, while you're out and about.

This jacket is fully waterproof, so you aren't going to have to worry about the rain and moisture seeping through the materials and soaking you through while you're on the run. It has a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm, meaning that it will be able to handle that much pressure before the water starts leaking in through the fabric and onto your clothing underneath.

The Accelerate has a 2.5 layer fabric construction, which gives you a decent amount of protection from the rain while still allowing you to have moderate breathability. You get your outer layer then under that, you get the coating that makes sure it's waterproof, allowing the rain to roll right off the materials. Finally, the 'half layer' is painted on and covers the entirety of the inside to help protect it from sweat and other oils. It feels just about the same as a jacket with a three-layer fabric, but it is going to be just a little less breathable, and you might feel a little clammier in this jacket. It is barely noticeable, but it is worth nothing. The Asics does have features throughout to combat the clamminess however and help keep you comfortable.

Comfort

Customers can appreciate the overall excellent comfort level of the Asics Accelerate running jacket. It is soft against your skin and offers a relaxed fit, so it isn't too tight or restrictive while you're heading out. It features elastic cuffs and thumb loops so you can make sure your sleeves are staying where they need to and won't ride up, or let the cold air enter through your sleeves.

As mentioned above, you will get a decent amount of breathability thanks to the 2.5 layer fabric design. You might experience a bit of clamminess while you're running and sweating, but this can be combated by unzipping some of the strategically designed vents to increase the overall breathability drastically. This jacket will help keep you warm when it's cold and prevent you from overheating while you're exerting yourself.

It does a fantastic job at preventing any kind of discomfort by allowing you to stay dry if you get caught in the rain. It's also going to keep you relatively warm; however, if it is unusually cold, you might want to consider a decent base layer to keep you warm while you're heading out.

Protection

You are going to get an enormous amount of security when you head outside with the Asics Accelerate jacket. As mentioned previously, it does a fantastic job of keeping you protected from the weather. The amazing waterproof construction is going to keep you dry if you're caught in the rain, allowing you to remain dry. If you are starting to get sweaty inside the coat, you can open one of the many vents to allow air flow into your body, letting you stay dry from the inside out as well.

As this is a rather thin jacket, it isn't going to do a whole lot to protect you from the cold. It's ideal for temperatures between 30-45 degrees Fahrenheit, but if you are going down any lower than that, or if the wind is particularly bad, you can always pair it with a thick base layer top to ensure you're staying nice and toasty and will not freeze while you're getting your exercise in.

In addition to protection from the elements, you will also get to take advantage of the 360-degree reflective detail throughout the coat, making sure that you are going to be able to stay seen by others while you're on the go. This is especially important in you're heading out on a rainy day, or any other time where the lighting conditions are not that great. Making sure others can see you is crucial to your overall safety, helping reduce the risk of accidents.

Fit

The Asics Accelerate offers you a more relaxed fit, meaning that it is designed to hand loosely from your body, allowing for a full fit. This doesn't mean that it should hang off your body too bad and shouldn't be overly baggy. If it's too big, then it will get in your way and hinder your overall experience, causing you problems when it's time for your cardio workout and making your everyday tasks a burden. That being said, you aren't going to want to get it too small either, then you run the risk of it restricting your movements and reducing your flexibility which can lead to frustration and overall discomfort.

Durability

The Asics Accelerate appears to be highly durable, constructed out of reliable and robust fibers to prevent ripping and tearing if you get caught on something as you are passing by. The fully sealed seams ensure that they are going to not only protect you from moisture, but it also strengthens the bond at the seams, ensuring it will not start falling apart prematurely.

Customers can appreciate the longevity of the jacket, being able to keep it as part of their running apparel for multiple seasons before it'll need to be replaced. This is especially appreciated when you take a look at the price tag. It is a bit on the steep side, even when compared to some similar products, but the high durability and fantastic function makes it well worth the extra cost. You might have to pay more than expected up front, but you aren't going to have to fork over that money again for a while, saving you a great deal of money in the long run.

Size

The Asics jacket is available in both men's and women's styles so there are different sizes for both, giving you enough options so you are sure to find something that will be able to fit you comfortably. Women can choose between size extra small through extra large, and men have the options of small through extra, extra large.

Asics does provide customers with a size chart, so if you aren't sure what you should order, you can always take a look at that to help you make your decision. It appears that this top is running true to size so that should help you make your decision so you can get the best size for the perfect fit.

Weight

The Accelerate is a lightweight jacket, weight in at right around 1 pound. Although this weight will fluctuate depending on the size, you order. Don't let the lightweight and thin materials fool you though, and it can still pack quite the punch. Reviewers have stated that it feels virtually weightless, almost like you aren't wearing this outer layer while you're out and about.

Style

The Asics Accelerate jacket has a great style that many consumers love. It has a relaxed fit, but it shouldn't be too baggy so you won't have a lot of extra materials flapping around in the wind while you're running away. It is specially designed for wearing out in the cold and rainy conditions, but that doesn't mean you can't still look great while you're doing it.

It has a rollaway hood so you can use it when you need to and tuck it away when you don't need it anymore. There are thumb loops and elastic cuffs so you can keep your sleeves where they need to be with no problems. You'll get a little storage thanks to the two zippered hand pockets on the size, allowing you to bring your essentials with your without the risk of losing them when you're running.

There are a broad variety of color options available for you to choose from so you can find one that will look great on you and match your personality. Since the zip-up is available in both men's and women's styles, you will be able to choose different colors depending on the version you order. Regardless of what color you want, you will have the Asics logo on the shoulder as well as reflective detailing all the way around, ensuring you stay visible when you're heading out on gloomy days.

Maintenance

You are going to want to try to make sure that you are taking care of your jacket in order to ensure you get the best out of it. If you aren't correctly maintaining it, then you run the risk of shortening the longevity of it, making it so you'll have to replace it sooner than expected.

Make sure that you are cleaning and caring for it according to the directions on the tag.

Use

The Asics Accelerate running jacket was designed with runners in mind, but that doesn't mean that they are the only ones who can take advantage of this great product. Yes, it is perfect for those who love to go outside and get their workouts in and now you are not going to have to worry about a little rain or a chill in the air stop you from getting outside and getting your cardio in. It offers phenomenal protection against the rain, keeping you dry even if you get caught in a shower. If it's unusually warm out and you can always unzip one or more of the integrated vents to allow airflow into the jacket, cooling you down while still providing you a waterproof experience.

The coat can do an excellent job at keeping you warm if it's chilly, but if it drops down to below freezing you might want to consider a thermal base layer or even a different product all together since this one isn't going to be able to keep you as warm as you'd require for sub-freezing temperatures.

As mentioned above, you aren't limited to leading an active lifestyle while sporting this jacket. It comes in many different colors and has an overall stylish design so you can wear it as an everyday spring or fall jacket, or to shield you from the rain while running errands.
