Some Need More Support

Superfeet insoles got their start in 1977, but it wasn’t until 1982 when Johnny Walker finally perfected his craft enough that he could mass-produce them. Once he finalized the design and began publicizing the insoles for sale, the company took off. Two storefronts popped up by 1985, in Canada and British Columbia. In the beginning, it was mainly skiers who were attracted to the insoles, because they were in need of better performance footwear.

It didn’t take long for Superfeet to shift their focus to the medical market. Podiatrists had patients with conditions that they didn’t have the answers for. It was perfect timing to be designing orthotic footwear. Superfeet earned a good reputation in no time and was able to sell thousands of insoles easily. By 1987, a customer service team was added and the company’s main priority was more efficient shipping.

In 2001, Superfeet introduced their orthotics made specifically for high heels and dress shoes, called Footnotes. Technological advances like carbon fiber and blended polymer were introduced in 2013. Check out other Superfeet products here.

Health Benefits

Athletes often have the pleasure of dealing with pain, especially when they want the gain. A lot of athletes struggle with painful conditions like bunions, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and Achilles tendonitis, among others. The good news is that Superfeet Carbon insoles can help to alleviate some of the pain and discomfort that comes with these. For some people, their pain may even dissipate completely.

Plantar fasciitis refers to inflammation in your fibrous tissue that runs along the sole of your foot, connecting your toes and heel. This condition can cause serious pain, but the support from the Superfeet Carbon can help.

Achilles tendonitis is when your Achilles tendon (above the heel) becomes irritated. The symptoms most often experienced with this condition are swelling and pain near the tendon. Usually, the pain is worse when you begin exercising and begins to lessen as you go.

Runners often experience a terribly irritating pain in the shin/lower leg from running on hard surfaces too much. These pains are called shin splints, and it can be hard to find relief from them. Superfeet Carbon can help. Compression sleeves could also help.

Bunions are formations caused by the big toe moving out of place. It takes years of moving abnormally and having odd pressure on the joint, but once it begins to bend toward your other toes, it will often cause a painful lump on the joint. Superfeet Carbon insoles can help keep your toes in line and alleviate some pain.

If you have any of these conditions, please be sure to consult your doctor before purchasing and trying these insoles. What works for one does not always work for all. Here are some other products for foot pain.

Superfeet Carbon insoles have a low volume and low profile fit. This means that the insole will take up a small amount of space inside of your shoe and will be less palpable under your foot. It is suitable for all arch types when wearing low volume, snug shoes. The Superfeet Carbon is Superfeet’s thinnest insole available.

You can comfortably wear them with boots, running shoes, casual sneakers, baseball cleats, and even dress shoes. They are suitable to be worn for golfing, football, work (even industrial), running, working out in the gym, and even just around the house.

The Superfeet Carbon insoles are designed to fit women who wear shoe sizes between eight and a half and ten, and men who wear shoe sizes between seven and a half and nine. The width is D (men’s standard) and can be trimmed to fit.

Superfeet Carbon insoles are designed to help alleviate pain and discomfort in your legs, feet, and lower back. The support provided by the insoles has a lot to do with the effectiveness of pain relief.

The Superfeet Carbon provides rigid arch support and includes Superfeet’s revolutionary EVOlyte material. ECOlyte is a combination of carbon fiber and its polymer in order to achieve a lightweight and supportive material. Superfeet Carbon has biomechanical memory, but with a lower volume and without sacrificing on support or strength.

The deep heel cup is going to give you extra support as well. It’s going to give you a strong foundation that will help reduce pain and stress on your feet, heel, and ankles. With the adequate supported provided by Superfeet Carbon insoles, your body will thank you. When you give your feet a good foundation, you’ll be able to help the symptoms of many conditions like diabetes, plantar fasciitis, and flat feet. You can even get extra support from your socks.

Shock Absorption

Whether you’re an athlete or not, you are still susceptible to any number of conditions that can cause your feet pain. If you do struggle with foot, ankle, leg, or lower back pain, the answer could be in your shoes. Superfeet Carbon insoles help to absorb some of the shocks your body feels from the impact of each foot strike.

Not only is the shock absorption better for your joints, but it will even return energy back to you, keeping you supported, comfortable, and energized all day. You can even add shock-absorbing shoes to help.

Superfeet Carbon will disperse the impact of your foot strikes across your entire foot in order to decrease the stress and strain put on your feet, legs, and back. With the cushioning, stabilizer cap, high-impact foam, and deep heel cup, Superfeet Carbon has you covered.

Many people struggle with something called flat feet, also known as overpronation. This means that the arches of the feet have the tendency to roll inward when walking. This condition can cause a lot of pain and can be something that happens naturally or it can be caused by obesity or pregnancy. Either way, it can be helped.

People who struggle with flat feet are more likely to sustain injuries than those who walk normally. For this reason, it is extra important for you to stabilize your feet with good shoes and/or insoles. If the shoes aren’t helping enough, Superfeet Carbon insoles are a great help to turn to.

Superfeet Carbon insoles are built to hold your feet and where they belong. Part of this strategy is fulfilled by the deep heel cup that your heel sits comfortably in, as well as a stabilizer cap that supports your rearfoot and provides structure to the foam layer. Before you decide on an insole to help with stabilization, consult your doctor. A good pair of running shoes could also help overpronation.

A common problem to run into when shopping for insoles is that they aren’t wide enough, or are too wide, for your feet/shoes. Superfeet Carbon is built wider, so that they may accommodate a wider variety of footwear. The good news, for those of you with thinner feet, is that the insole can be cut to fit. If you’re looking for insoles specifically made for larger feet, check here.

Being comfortable throughout the day is one of our top priorities as humans. I think most can agree. Therefore, it only makes sense to start at the feet. What good are the stability, support, and shock absorption going to do if you’re not comfortable throughout the day?

When they were designing the Superfeet Carbon insoles, they kept comfort at the front of their minds. Cushioning is provided by a foam that is closed-cell and long-lasting. It is durable enough to last you months and miles to come.

The design of Superfeet Carbon is contoured to your feet, hugging your arches and heels in order to give you much-needed relief. There were some customers who expressed concerns about having enough cushioning to keep them comfortable during long shifts, as nurses, for example.

People who had already owned Superfeet Carbon reported that they wore them for backpacking trips and found that they held up very well, even after being put through many rough miles. People who work long shifts on concrete floors have also reported that the Superfeet Carbon has helped their pain.

It may not look like it’s packing much cushioning because it’s so thin, but between the cushion, shock absorption, stability, and support, you won’t even realize the cushioning isn’t thick.

Breathability isn’t only important when it comes to your socks and shoes. If you want all-around protection, make sure your insoles are breathable, as well. In order to make sure the Superfeet Carbon insoles would let your feet breathe, the foam has been perforated under the forefoot and midfoot. This also helps to reduce the weight of the insole. If you need breathable shoes, check here.

Odor Control

The Superfeect Carbon insoles are equipped with a coating to fight off odor-causing bacteria. The bacteria that are responsible for smelly feet are attracted to your sweat. When they feed on your sweat, they produce acid. The acid that they excrete is what causes the odor. What’s worse, it’s not just the odor that you have to worry about.

If your feet experience excessive sweat and have no way of drying off, it makes the perfect breeding ground for those pesky bacteria. They don’t only cause odor, though. They can also cause toenail fungus and athlete’s foot. Here are some tips for treating athlete’s foot. For extra protection, be sure to wear shoes and socks that will help keep your feet dry and cool too.

It’s no secret that the world is becoming more self-aware. More and more people are joining the cause of being kind to animals, all animals. And since people are taking better note of their effect on the planet, Superfeet decided that they wanted in also. They only parts of Superfeet’s insoles that aren’t considered vegan are the covers made of merino wool. The wool is recycled from fibers that weren’t long enough for other purposes. For more vegan-friendly products, check here.

Superfeet knows that no two people are the same. Some people have allergic reactions to certain materials, chemicals, and adhesives. Due to this fact, the company is determined to produce items with as little adhesives, materials, and chemicals as possible.

All of the materials they do use in the manufacturing process of Superfeet Carbon do go through many tests. They must meet the requirements of CPSC’s lead requirements, Phthalates and heavy elements, California Prop hazardous chemical list, and REACH (the European chemical restriction standard).

Although there are a lot of tests performed, there isn’t one done for every single allergen imaginable. There are simply too many possible allergens to be able to have the time and resources to test that much. The Superfeet Carbon insoles are as hypoallergic as they possibly can be, though. They just cannot guarantee to be one hundred percent hypoallergic.

The Superfeect Carbon insoles do not contain any natural rubber latex, during the manufacturing process or in the packaging. Some shoes sold from the company may contain latex, however. The company is working towards being completely latex-free soon.

Bottom Line

Whether you’re an athlete or not, you can enjoy all that the Superfeet Carbon insoles have to offer. Yes, they are ideal for sports, workouts, and high-impact activities, but they’re also beneficial to people who suffer from conditions like plantar fasciitis. Of course, make sure you consult your doctor before trying anything for medical relief.

The Superfeet Carbon is packed with features that work together to provide you with the support, stability, cushioning, breathability, shock absorption, and odor-control you need during your long workouts or work shifts. They may come at a higher price, but it’s worth it if they’re right for you.
