Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 3 Reviewed & Tested Review Facts

Though it has been succeeded by another updated model, the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 3 is still a solid choice for anyone who runs or works out frequently. These shoes pack a lot of punches due to the construction of their midsole, outsole, and upper working in unison to provide the wearer with comfort and stability. They are moderately priced and are made with quality materials, including Zoom Air pods and Flywire mesh. There are several pleasing color options for both the men and women’s models, and they accommodate people with either larger or narrower feet which is a huge plus. We would recommend the Terra Kiger 3 to both casual and serious athletes because it is a generally well-rounded shoe.

Upper

The upper of the Terra Kiger 3 was developed using a seamless design, making for a far less irritating fit than a seamed upper would. It is breathable and uses Nikes patented Flywire technology. This results in a snug, comfortable fit that locks the front part of your feet in place. Moreover, it provides added support and helps circumvent air throughout the shoes. A well crafted upper is key in delivering comfort and style, and this shoe proves how important it is in those categories.

Midsole & Outsole

One of the most solid updates to the midsole in the Terra Kiger 3 comes in the form of its midsole. This portion of the shoe is composed of a thickened Phylon foam which is ideal for improving the overall cushioning of the shoes. Furthermore, the midsole also has Nike’s famous Air Zoom cushioning which is basically a grouping of pressurized air pockets created to make the cushioning more responsive. The overall function of these pockets is to provide natural flexibility in the shoes when you are running in them.

The outsole of this product delivers highly reliable traction, which is a must have when it comes to treading over damp surfaces. It has fantastic grip, so you’ll never have to worry about slipping and potentially injuring yourself on those outdoor treks. It uses a dual density system alongside oversized lugs to adapt well to both wet and dry surfaces. As a whole, the outsole is a great aspect of the Terra Kiger 3 has great protection and traction.

Weight

The men’s version of this model weighs in at roughly 9 ounces while the women’s version is a little over 7 ounces. Clearly, both models are extremely lightweight and therefore a true joy to run in. Because the outsole, upper, and midsole aren’t made with very heavy materials, they do not weigh down the shoes the slightest bit. At the same time, it isn’t the lightest shoe Nike sells, but the average consumer would be satisfied with how light they are.

Flexibility

A running shoe is practically useless if it lacks in a classification such as flexibility. Well look no further than the Terra Kiger 3, which was one of the most flexible and comfortable shoes out there when it was released in the summer of 2015. This is mostly because of the Zoom Air Pods located in the midsole which contribute to the natural motion felt when running or walking. These kicks are super comfortable and flexible, which makes them perfect for taking on steep inclines, practicing side to side motions, and doing many other types of exercise.

Price

Price can often be the deciding factor for potential customers when it comes to purchasing a pair of running shoes. These shoes are moderately priced on several websites, ranging between $100 and $125. This is comparable to how much Nike and other companies charge for their running shoes, but is markedly less expensive than the most current models. At the same time, if you’re going to shell out more than one hundred dollars for a pair of shoes, the more active athlete may be better off purchasing a more high end product.

Terrain

The world is a very geographically diverse place, with so many different kinds of ground to conquer. Because of this, a running shoe that can tackle various types of land are highly sought after by customers far and wide. As is the case with most of Nike’s products, the Terra Kiger 3 easily handles terrain very well, whether it be rocky areas, sand, or just plain old sidewalk. This is all possible because of the sturdy rubber outsole and the EVA sockliner, which adapts to the natural arch and curvature of your feet and makes it comfortable to go over even the roughest surfaces. These shoes hold up well in harsh conditions and are super durable.

Style

Seeing as the Terra Kiger 3 is newly outdated and websites are less likely to carry them, it was a little difficult finding out just so how many colors it is available in. However, the ones we did manage to find range from subtle grays and blacks to more vibrant pinks and blues. There is definitely a hue of this shoe out there for everyone. Unfortunately, you cannot get customized colors or embroidery as Nike no longer sells this version on their website. In terms of construction, the Terra Kiger 3 is pretty aesthetically pleasing because it does not have such a bulky or bubbled outsole and is relatively thin all around. It would pair well with running attire as well as regular street clothes.

Comfort

In order for a running shoe to be both desirable and effective, it must have an acceptable degree of comfort for the wearer. Thanks to the ingenious combination of breathable Flywire mesh and Air Zoom pressurized pockets, your foot receives great arch support and feels soft and protected within these shoes. This is great for those runners who are often hesitant to take long runs in an unfamiliar running shoe because this model does not cause blistering and circumvents air quite well.

Key Features

• Dual-density outsole accompanied by multi-directional lugs
• Heel crash pad designed to reduce impact shock
• Zoom Air cushioning and Flywire technology
• EVA sock liner that provides increased traction and durability
• Built with environmentally friendly and sustainable materials
• Updated version of the previous Terra Kiger models

Verdict

All in all, there is not much to complain about with the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 3 because it is simply a solid running shoe. Sure, it is not exactly a brand new product, but it still has a lot to offer in terms of construction, comfort, and durability. It adapts to both the shape of your feet and the environment and terrain around it which results in peak relaxation and comfort. Because it is an older model, it is much less expensive than its successor but isn’t all that different from it in reality. Though it is prone to ripping on the outward design of the shoe, it still stands up to harsh conditions and does not fall apart easily. If you’re looking for a standard running shoe that is stylish, sturdy, and comes at a decent price, then the Terra Kiger 3 is definitely for you.
