We haven’t seen a pair of Reebok running shoes in a while, have we? Reebok has drifted rather far away from the running shoe game in the last few years but, have slowly been inching their way back into the fold. The release of the Reebok Harmony Road is their way of saying “okay, we’re back”. The harmony road is honestly a spectacular shoe at that. It has all the aesthetic qualities of an amazing running shoes as well as all the features that really make shoes provide runners with an amazing level of comfort. The cushioning found in this pair of shoes is honestly well beyond that found by it’s predecessors and the design of the shoe itself also allows the shoe to really give the wearer what they need in terms of the transition speed as well.
The outsole of this shoe is designed from the typical material; it must be able to really give the wearer what they need in terms of grip and durability
. The outsole of this shoe is designed from a highly-abrasive rubber compound that, very much like the name of the material suggests provides the wearer with an amazing level of grip. The outsole’s use of this rubber throughout the design really gives the wearer a form of 360-degree coverage with respect to their ability to gain a high level of traction while running is the shoe; when used on roads, it becomes dangerously pertinent for the wearer of the shoe to really have that added grip that this shoe provides to them. The outsole also has grooves that allows it to get a decent level of flex because of the shoe’s use of flex grooves throughout the design. The forefoot of the shoe also has the PwrPad tech that allows the shoe to really give the wearer a decent level of bounce in that area of the shoe.
The midsole of the Reebok Harmony Road gives the wearer both a high level of bounce and an amazing level of cushioning while the shoe is in use. The shoe features Kooshride tech in the midsole of its design, the biggest reason why the shoe is so responsive. Kooshride provides the wearer with an exceptionally high level of cushioning that lasts for the duration of the shoe’s life; meaning that the wearer doesn’t have to really worry about the shoe losing its bounce and getting stuck with the indentations that the wearer’s foot makes into it. The cushioning provided by the shoe lasts to such a great extent that the feel that is provided to the wearer really gives one what they need for those long distance runs/jogs. In addition to the Kooshride, the midsole of the shoe also features a Tri-Zone tech that gives the wearer what they need in terms of transition and shock absorption. These two technologies really come together to give the wearer an amazing level ride while in use.
The upper of the shoe is seamless which really signals to the wearer that they will have an extremely high level, comfortable overall ride while the shoe is in use. The material that makes up the sole unit of the shoe is titled “Smooth Fuse” and is known for it’s ability to provide one with a decent level of airflow as well as comfort. The shoe’s upper appears to be a mix of both synthetic, rubber-like materials and a mesh blend that come together to provide the wearer with a decent level of stability
and to give the shoe a bit of structure for the foot while in use. The toe box on this shoe provides ample room for toe splay, which is something that most shoes lack and which is completely necessary for the wearer to really do anything above average while in use. Most of the shoe’s body is padded and gives the wearer what they need to really function while in use, especially for those who require a shoe that can be used for longer runs.
A shoe as highly cushioned and functional as this one must be a bit on the heavier side, it must be. The Reebok Harmony Road has a high level of cushioning in place that is completely necessary for the types of runs that the shoe is designed for. With that, the design of this shoe weighs a whopping 10 oz;
not completely the worse thing considering the uses of the shoe and what it can provide to the wearer. The foam in the midsole of the shoe and the dense nature of the material somewhat adds to the feel of the shoe and is a reason for the heavier design that it carries. Something to note is that the material in this shoe weighs a bit more but, it still provides one with a somewhat lightweight feel when used for a run.
The material that makes up the upper of the Reebok Harmony Road must be breathable. The use of the smooth form tech and the combination of both the mesh and the synthetic materials give the wearer a bit of airflow
for their foot while the shoe is in use; the mesh makes up most of the design with the synthetic materials working to give the shoe a structurally sound design that isn’t flimsy in the slightest. The upper of the shoe also keeps the foot from experiencing any level of sweat buildup in the design which is something that becomes increasingly important for those who are prone to excessive sweating while in use.
The cushioning that is in place throughout the design of this shoe really gives the wearer what they need in terms of comfort. The upper of the shoe is highly padded and seamless at that; these parts of the shoe’s design really allows it to give the wearer what they need in terms of comfort. The seamless part of the smooth form tech really aids the wearer solely because the material that makes up the upper of a shoe can really begin to bunch up and cause discomfort if worn for prolonged periods of time. The cushioning provided by the sole unit of the shoe also allows the shoe to really give the wearer what they need in terms of comfort primarily due to the use of the KooshRide tech in the midsole; Kooshride is designed from a TPU foam that continuously acts to provide the wearer with what they need in terms of cushioning for the shoes duration. The shoe also has features that act to give the wearer a bit of shock absorption while in use; which is something that becomes increasingly important as the shoe is used.
The style of this shoe is that of a running shoe to be honest. Reebok gave the shoe a bit of flash in the design as well; the upper has several components that allow the shoe to be visually appealing and to give the shoe what it needs to be seen while in use; the shoe has reflective material in place all throughout the design that really gives the wearer a bit of visibility when wearing the shoe in the excessively dimly-lit areas. The cut of the shoe, as in most shoes nowadays, is that of a slim shoe that can really give the wearer a bit of aesthetic appeal. The shoe comes in a variety of colorways that would seemingly work to repel one from ever purchasing the shoe but, does its job to provide the wearer with what in terms of aesthetic appeal.
The Smooth form upper of the shoe and the blend of material really does give the wearer what they need to make the shoe last for extended periods of time; an upper made solely of mesh material would probably have a bit of a harder time to last than that of a shoe that is designed from a blend of synthetic material as well as mesh. The shoe’s upper is also seamless, which is something that really aids the shoe
in providing a high level of durability to the wearer primarily because the material lasts for increasingly long periods of time and has less of a chance to rip while in use. The foam material in the sole unit maintains its bounce for the length of time that the shoe is in use as well; this is because the shoe doesn’t compress as much as is the norm. Don’t forget the carbon rubber on the outsole of the shoe and its ability to really provide the wearer with a decent level of longevity when in use; carbon rubber is highly abrasive and doesn’t wear down as quickly as a regular rubber compound.
When it comes to protection, the material in the sole unit of this shoe as well as the upper gives the wearer what they need. The Kooshride material in the midsole is rather thick and, due to it’s ability to provide for the curves of the wearer’s foot really allows one to feel a bit of security; the material is also rather thick, which adds to the feel of the shoe. The outsole, much like the upper of the shoe is rather thick and is also made of a carbon rubber that will keep the shoe from feeling as if they will damage themselves while running.
The upper has reflective material in place that also keeps the wearer visible during the darker periods; this is an invaluable thing for running shoe to have simply because night jogs can be rather dangerous if not properly visible.
The Kooshride material is extremely responsive, which is something that translates into responsiveness for the wearer of the shoe. Kooshride conforms to the shape of the wearer’s foot and is somewhat shock absorbent, which allows the shoe to really give the wearer a decent level of energy return while in use. While on the topic of energy return, the midsole also utilizes a tri-zone tech that allows the shoe to really provide an enhanced level of it while in use. The carbon rubber that is in place on the outsole of the shoe also allows the shoe to provide one with a decent level of bounce while the shoe is being used; this comes in the form of a shoe being able to easily provide one with a sense of being able to easily move without feeling stuck in any way.
The midsole of Reebok Harmony Road ensures that the wearer of the shoe enjoys the level of bounce provided by this shoe in it’s entirety. The Kooshride and Tri-zone cushioning in the midsole of this shoe really does give the wearer a bit of support for the curves and arches of the bottom of the foot. The shoe is considered a neutral running shoe and for good reason, the curves and comfort provided by the shoe are provided with ample support if they are the curves of a neutral runner.
This is a road running shoe through and through; the sole unit of the shoe has none of the raises that are natural in a shoe and does none of the things that one would need if they were to run on say, a trail. With, the shoe can be used on various types of roads and provides a high level of functionality on all of them. The Carbon rubber material on the outsole of the shoe really provides one with what they would need to really perform in these areas while the upper of the shoe provides one with a sense of protection while the shoe is being used.
These shoes are somewhere in the middle in terms of price point. The shoe comes with various technologies that will give the wearer what they will need to go out and perform on these trails without having to worry about the shoe giving out on them; the durability experienced by these shoes is nothing short of impeccable and translates into a value that is experienced by very few shoes besides this one. Overall the durability and the functionality (grip and flex) provided by this shoe does a great job to make sure that one has what they need to really go out and do their thing on the surfaces that they are running on as well as justify the price of the shoe.
The carbon rubber on the outsole takes care of the shoe in terms of traction gaining capabilities. Carbon rubber provides one with what they need when they must have a decent level of friction taking place on whatever surface that they are running on; the shoe’s use of this material really allows it to give one an amazing level functionality in this regard and keeps one on their toes when using the shoe on their respective terrains. The PWRpad tech in the sole unit of the shoe also greatly improves the traction experienced by the wearer; the PWRpad is found in the forefoot of the shoe and consistently works to give the wearer a decent level of grip. The shoe also has grooves in place that allow it to really give one what they need in terms of their ability traction, something that will be discussed a bit more in depth in the next section.
The sole unit of the shoe has grooves that run the outside of the shoe and really work to give the shoe what it needs in terms of movement; the forefoot has even more of the grooves in the PwrPad to give the wearer a bit more movement when they need to gain a bit more traction. The upper of the shoe and the Smoothform tech also helps the shoe to provide one with a bit of flex simply because the upper of the shoe utilizes a decent amount of mesh in it’s design.
The upper of the Reebok Harmony Road is designed from a mesh material, but it also has a few synthetic overlays that allow the wearer to do what they need to in terms of gaining a bit of stability/security in their movements.
Okay, the stack height of this shoe is honestly nothing to laugh at; the drop is roughly 10 mm which is a bit higher than the average. Just because the drop is on the higher side, that doesn’t mean that the shoe won’t provide the wearer with decent movements while in use.
• Tri-Zone midsole
• Kooshride tech
• Pwrpad tech
• Seamless upper
The entirety of this shoe is one that really gives the wearer a decent level of functionality as well as provides one with what they need in terms of comfort. The Reebok Harmony Road may be a bit higher priced than some would like but, the features found in this shoe are simply undeniable and given a little time, will continuously show one that they made the right choice in purchasing this shoe.
