Outsole

Outsole

The outsole of the Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 training shoes is made out of durable and flexible rubber to ensure that they are not going to wear down too quickly. Additionally, there is some more firm rubber incorporated into the heel of the shoes to make sure you get a little extra durability in this high wear area as well as some extra stability for high-intensity intervals. The rubber is also fairly sticky which can help you keep quite the grip on many surfaces. You do not want to have to worry about slipping and falling if you hit a wet spot at the gym or get caught running in the rain. That is not something that you will have to worry about with these sneakers. The grippy rubber mixed with the tri-star design of the tread pattern on the bottoms of the shoes helps ensure that you stay on your feet and helps prevent the risk of falling and hurting yourself while you are out and about.

The forefront of the soles has some molded flex grooves incorporated into them to help ensure you get a decent amount of flexibility when you are running or working out. These sneakers are going to help ensure that your feet can move as freely and naturally as possible, without restricting your movements. This is going to help give you additional comfort as well potentially prevent strain or injury to your feet. The shoes also feature a wraparound sole which is going to increase the durability and a rope climb grip.
Midsole

Midsole

The Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 cross training sneakers feature a dual density drop-in midsole that is designed to give you a decent amount of cushioning and a great deal of flexibility. The midsole is designed to be lightweight and comfortable. There is not a whole lot of cushioning in them, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Since these shoes are designed for a plethora of different activities, and not just one, they have to be designed with every activity in mind. There is just enough padding to keep your feet happy and comfortable, but not too much that it will weigh the shoes down and get in the way during some parts of your fitness routine.
Uppers

Uppers

There was a lot of care and consideration put into the design and construction of the uppers of these sneakers. They are made out of Nike's Flyknit materials to promote breathability and flexibility, which is great for those who are going to be doing a lot of hardcore training or running, allowing you to move freely and stay cool while you are on the go. The fact that these shoes are well ventilated is very important because it can ensure you get a decent amount of air flow into the foot chamber, preventing your feet from overheating, but also keeping your feet dry. The ability for air to come in helps ensure the sweat from your feet can evaporate quickly and escape the shoe, preventing damp socks.

The uppers of the shoes have some synthetic overlays added to them, that their predecessor did not have, to give them a little more durability. The overlays were added to the lateral side of the shoe as well as around the toe areas, as they are the high wear and tear areas of the shoes. This is going to help ensure that they are not going to tear or rip easily in those areas which have been a problem with past versions of these shoes.
Support

Support

It is important to have a pair of shoes that are going to offer you a decent amount of support. It is especially important in a pair of shoes like these that are so versatile and are worn for so many different activities. It is nice to know that these sneakers are going to offer you the support that you need for your workout. The Flywire (Vectran filaments) is an amazing support system that is extremely strong and lightweight, made of liquid crystal polymer fibers that are finely spun. Instead of having a pair of shoes with uppers comprised of various panels for support, Nike opted to use this Flywire technology to keep that additional weight off of the shoes while still giving the much-needed support. You will still get a flexible feel, allowing your feet to expand and contract while you are on the go, as this tech allows the upper to move with your foot while still offering you the support that you need.

The beauty of the lacing system in these sneakers is that it is incorporated into the Flywire uppers to make sure you get a locked in and secure fit. It works similarly to a strap you might find on a weightlifting shoe. As you tighten up your laces the Flyknit is going to come together to ensure your feet are not going anywhere inside of your shoe. No need to worry about sliding around or possibly having your foot slip right out of your shoe while you are wearing these. As long as you get the proper size and fit of the shoes you are going to get a phenomenal amount of support and security.
Comfort

Comfort

When it comes to your shoes, no matter what you are wearing them for, you want to make sure that you find something that is going to be comfortable so your feet will thank you after a long day or a hard workout. That being said, the Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 sneakers seem to offer a decent amount of comfort. They do not have a whole lot of underfoot cushioning, but that is because they are designed to be a versatile shoe and too much padding can get in the way of a lot of workout routines. There is enough cushioning, however, that your feet will not hate you by the end of the day.

A lot of comfort from these shoes actually comes from the soft and supportive uppers. They give you a soft sock-like fit thanks to the stretch woven sleeve inside the shoes. The lightweight and breathable materials of the uppers helps make sure that you have a pleasant experience while wearing the sneakers. Giving you the proper support that you need while still giving you the ability to move freely and unrestricted. Customers really appreciate just how comfortable these sneakers are.
Versatility

Versatility

The Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 cross-training shoes are extremely versatile. There is almost nothing that you cannot do while you are wearing these sneakers. They do a wonderful job at seamlessly combining all the features you need in a pair of a wide variety of shoes. Whether you are looking to do some running, yoga, weight lifting, participating in sports, rope climbing, jumping rope, or any combination of the activities, these shoes are going to give you the comfort and support that you will need to get you through the day.

The Flywire technology in the uppers gives you a locked-in fit that is similar to the strap you might find on the midfoot area of a pair of best weightlifting shoes. They have a wrap around sole that helps give you a better grip during certain workouts, like rope climbing. There is a decent amount of cushioning (although not a whole lot) which makes running more comfortable, especially when going longer distances. The flexibility incorporated into every aspect of these shoes is ideal for going from one activity to the next with ease.
Durability

Durability

When it comes to purchasing your shoes you are going to want to make sure that you find something that is going to be able to handle your fitness routines, you do not want to have to worry about them falling apart on your too soon after purchasing them. Keep in mind, buying a pair of training shoes is an investment and as such you might expect to spend a little more money than you might like to, but as long as you get a good quality product you will save money in the long run because you will not have to replace them for quite some time.

The Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 sneakers are a bit on the pricey side when compared to other shoes, but they can do so much more than other products on the market, and they are going to last significantly longer. They are not going to suffer from premature wear and tear. Nike learned from their past mistakes and increased the durability of this iteration of the Metcon Flyknit's. They added synthetic overlays to the high wear areas on the uppers to prevent rips and tears and to help increase the life span of the shoes. They did not have to change much about the soles for this version, as they were (and still are) designed to take the repeated pounding of your daily runs and workouts.

Fit

Fit

They way your shoes fit on your feet is crucial to not only your comfort level but also the supportive features offered by your sneakers. When ordering these sneakers you are going to want to make sure that they are snug on your feet, but not too tight that pinch your toes or rub uncomfortable causing blisters. At the same time, they cannot be too big or loose otherwise they are not going to be as supportive as you might need and you may run the risk of sliding around in your shoes while you are in the middle of your workout.

Customers have mentioned that these sneakers are running a little on the small side so you might want to consider ordering a half size bigger than you normally would so you can make up for this discrepancy. Some customers have also mentioned that they are a bit narrow so if you have rather wide feet they might not fit you very well and may not be the best choice for you.
Style

Style

Customers really like the look and style of the Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 sneakers. They come in a wide variety of color options so you are sure to find something that is going to best suit your style and personality. Many people might consider buying more than one pair of these great shoes just so they can have them in more than one color.

They feature the iconic Nike 'Swoosh" on the sides of the shoes, as well as on the tongue. The Metcon logo is written on the side of the shoe as well. There is a pull tab on the heel and a padded tongue and collar. These sneakers are going to look great no matter where you are. Whether you are the track, in the gym, going to school, or heading to work these great looking shoes are going to be the perfect fit.

Weight

When buying a pair of shoes you are going to want to find something that is as light as possible while still offering you all the support and protection you are going to need for the task at hand. That being said, the Nike Metcon Flyknit 3 sneakers offer you a great deal of support for just about any cross-training activity but they are still able to remain extremely lightweight. The lack of heavy overlays thanks to the Flywire technology in the uppers is one of the biggest reasons that they are able to keep the weight off of these shoes. There is, unfortunately, not a lot of information on what the exact weight of these shoes is but customers can agree that they do not hold them back or weigh them down while they are on the go.

Bottom Line

If you are in the market for a great pair of shoes to wear to the gym or to hit the road then you have come to the right place. These sneakers are going to be a welcomed addition to anyone's gym bag. They are very versatile and are perfect from just about any workout you can imagine. You can transition easily from one activity to the next with no problems at all.
