Brand

Casio, originally Kashio Seisakujo, was founded in Japan by the four Kashio brothers, Tadao, Toshioo, Kazuo, and Yukio. One of the brothers, Tadao, was the engineer who developed the companies first product. It was a yubiwa pipe, a ring for your finger that can hold a cigarette so you can smoke it all the way down without the use restricting the use of your hands. Cigarettes became extremely valuable after World War II, so this invention took off, allowing you to smoke the whole thing without waste.

Their next product was developed after the other three brothers saw their first electric calculators at a business show in Tokyo back in 1949. They used the profits they made from the yubiwa pipe to create their calculators. Most of their products worked using gears that you could operate with a crank or motor.

Toshio Kashino had some knowledge about electronics, so he used that information to develop a calculator that worked using solenoids. This product was finally finished in 1954 and became Japan's very first electro-mechanical calculator.

It wasn't until the 80s that the brand exploded, bringing affordable electronic instruments and home electronics. They became famous for its plethora of innovative products, including watchers. In fact, Casio was one of the first manufacturers of quartz watches, both analog and digital.

Over the years, they became a household name. They became a brand that consumers have grown to know in love.

Versatility

The rugged design and great function give this watch fantastic versatility. It's going to fit in perfect and most casual and outdoor settings. You can even get away with wearing it to the office. Of course, if you're going to a more formal event, such as a wedding, then you might want to find something more dressy. However, on most other occasions, it'll work out just fine.

There are a plethora of great functions that make it a fantastic tool to have on hand when you are doing outdoor activities. For example, the compass can help you out when you are spending time hiking in the woods, or the barometric pressure reading can let you know when a storm is coming in.

Value

Nobody likes spending a lot of money on a product, especially a watch. There are a lot of things to consider, however, when determining the value of them. There is no need to replace the battery or plug it into a charger; all you have to do is place it under a fluorescent light or in the sun. It does have battery storage of about seven months, so you have a back up if you spend a lot of time indoors and away from light. However, that isn't a problem for the vast majority of consumers. If you find that it is starting to lose some of the power, go outside for a little bit, and you will be good to go.

It is always nice to know that you will not ever have to deal with changing a battery again. Gone are the days when you have to find a little screwdriver to pop off the back of your watch to replace the button battery, sometimes in sizes that are difficult to find. Yes, it is a rechargeable battery, but the sun is the charger. You do not have to deal with the hassle of finding a charging cord or taking the product off your wrist to plug it in.
