Editor’s Conclusion
If you’re looking for a stylish little boot, then the Classic UGG Ultra mini boot might be right up your street. Its ankle shaft height makes them perfect with a pair of jeans for a night out with friends. Being protected with water repellency treatments means these boots might be mini but my, are they mighty.

17mm wool lining gives them comfort and warmth all wrapped in a nice little ankle boot. They have a lightweight, flexible sole and a 17mm Twinface sheepskin upper.

A versatile boot with the option of casual wear or the ability to up-style with a skater dress, they are a nice addition to your wardrobe.

Personally, I am not an ankle boot person, I prefer a mid-boot but the Classic Ugg Ultra mini is, without doubt, an iconic UGG boot that I can understand a lot of people opting for.

Key Features

Durability

UGG is famed for its durability. Sheep wool is an insulator that will never let you down, so unless you decide to put these boots in the freezer as a tester, they are going to be an extremely warm boot.

They are treated to be repellent against water; however, they are not waterproof so don’t expect the suede to last if you are going to continuously wear these boots in the rain or snow. Suede is a softer material, unlike leather, it is not made to be robust, it is a stylish material.

These boots will be for longevity if used for casual outings and not for a trip down to the local pond.

Price

You will always pay more for UGG; the brand is expensive but don't be put off by the price. They are quality and quality means a price tag. The UGG Ultra Mini’s are no different than any other UGG boot price, but for their use, they are expensive.

The materials used are high-end, so it will be worth the price you pay; leather is not a cheap material, neither is wool lining.

If you want lavish, long-lasting boots, then UGG's are the one. The question is do you love UGG enough to pay the price.

Use

The UGG Ultra Minis are a great little boot for comfort and style. They are a boot made to accompany jeans and dresses rather than a pair of walking pants. Don't look at these boots and think they will take you miles because they won't, they are a boot for style.

The fact they are treated for water repellence is a bonus as if you are caught out then don't be too alarmed thinking you might have just ruined your favorite pair of boots.

UGG has taken care of them. The lightweight sole is great for flexibility and means they aren't heavy on the foot.

Design

With the shaft measuring only 3.5inches from the arch, this really is a mini boot. The sheepskin lining is not only a comfort feature, but it is classy as well. This boot oozes comfort and warmth and invites your foot in.

The Treadlite UGG outsole gives additional comfort, as does the UGGplush 80% wool, 20% Iyocell insole. It is designed for comfort and ease. It's versatile and has endless styling options.

Comparison to Similar Boots

If mini boots are your thing, then there are alternatives to UGG's and with a smaller price tag. Take the Dunes Karma Hidden Wedge Boot, for example, the shaft measures the same as the UGG Ultra Mini and offers a rear pull tab for ease and they are made of suede material.

The difference you will find with these boots is the faux inner lining and they have a memory foam insole.

Another alternative you may want to look at is the Koolaburra By Ugg Koola Mini 2 Boots. Very similar to the Dunes, they have faux shearling lining and a long-lasting rubber sole.

Both of these options are much cheaper than the UGG Ultra Mini. They may look similar and have similar traits but when it comes to luxury, the UGG’s will always take first place.

Verdict

If mini boots are your thing and you want quality, then the UGG Ultra Mini boot is a great option. They are fit for purpose and versatile. My only gripe, and it is a personal one, is that I feel they resemble slippers. I am not a fan of such a small arch but having said that, I can appreciate a good boot, and these are quality.

The material is of a high spec, not likely to wear down easily, so you're not going to have to buy multiple pairs. They have a water repellent which gives me great confidence that this boot will go the distance.

It is a boot that will be a friend to your feet come colder weather and is an easy slip-on/slip-off to pop out in. The main feature that I think that sells it is the comfort.

It may look like a slipper to me, but the fact it feels like a slipper is a positive for your feet.
