Key Features

The Terrex AX3 is available in 4 different colors, each as appealing as the other. They boast style along with their impressive performance qualities. The outsole is both cushioned and robust, with the most satisfactory traction. The uppers offer both support and breathability.

This versatile shoe is built for stability as well as pace. It's main purpose is as a hiking shoe, however, there is no reason why you couldn't use this shoe as a trail runner as well.

It's a shoe that does it all on all the different terrains you can expect to encounter in the outdoors.

This is a multi-purpose hiking shoe created with trail running tech.

EVA Midsole

Used to help disperse weight and provide stability, the EVA midsole is both lightweight, durable, and comfortable. It offers a great amount of cushion with each step. A great feature for any walking shoe.

Continental Rubber Outsole

Continental rubber is an excellent material for an outsole. The deep lugs provide superb traction on both wet and dry surfaces and it overlaps the toe to give toe protection against bumps and abrasions.

It gives excellent slip resistance and is a really durable material.

Torsion Bar

Not something I come across often but the Adidas Terrex AX3 offers a torsion bar for midfoot stability. It is also a benefit during long hikes and on uneven ground.

Comfort & Cushioning

The abrasion-resistant material offers both breathability and flexibility. It allows the foot to enjoy the transition of each step and is beneficial on longer hikes.

It is also a material that will continuously provide your foot with the performance you want on all terrain.

The Terrex AX3 are extremely fairly priced, given their performance abilities and versatile nature. I was shocked as the design is one that I think is really appealing and I'd happily pay the price any time.

Comparison to Similar Hiking Shoes

Danner Trail 2650 - Another great hiking shoe that offers protection, comfort, and durability, the Danner 2650 boasts a Vibram outsole, removable Ortholite footbed, Plyogo EVA midsole, and an attractive exterior to finish off. Definitely worth a look, but slightly more expensive than the Terrex AX3.

Merrell Moab Speed - Built for comfort, the Moab Speed is a perfect hiking shoe, It offers both a protective toe cap, padded tongue and collar, PU foam insole, and New Vibram Traction Lug outsole. They have a stylish look about them as well and the price tag is not too high to squirm at.

Honesty matters right? I am totally sold by the Adidas Terrex AX3. This model performs well, offers longevity, a fashionable design, and it comes at an extremely fair price.

The one thing that sells this shoe to me is the versatility it offers. It is a shoe that is stylish enough to pair with jeans, supportive enough to accompany you on a trail run, and durable enough to act as a great hiking shoe.

The lugs are deep and offer great support and traction, especially on uneven and wet ground, something I find most beneficial when hiking, and they will definitely outlast their price tag.
