Editor’s Conclusion
The Salomon trail running shoes I want to introduce you to are quite the mouthful but they're well worth the tongue tangle I'm about to get into. Let's talk about the Sense Ride 4 GORE-TEX Invisible Fit.

The Sense Ride 4 are designed for heavy running on mixed terrain; their Optivibe, SensiFit and Contagrip technologies are all benefits that will improve the quality of your run and how your feet feel while running and after.

These exceptional trail runners boast comfort, responsiveness, cushioning, protection, waterproofness, and much more.

Key Features

Comfort

The Sense Ride 4 is equipped with an Optivibe foam to absorb vibrations and decrease muscle fatigue, something we all suffer with on our runs. They also benefit from EndoFit, an internal sleeve that hugs your foot and offers a more precise fit.

The GORE-TEX invisible fit is both lighter and more flexible for the boot construction which will give your feet a more comfortable experience.

Sole

Contagrip, a compound that is built for the widest variety of surfaces, is perfect for trail running. They are great for providing traction on both wet and dry surfaces and will fill you with confidence on your runs.

This outsole will provide you with a stable foundation on both loose and hard surfaces. They are also super durable and with 4mm lugs, you will get an even better grip.

Support and Stability

The first thing I noticed when I looked at the Sense 4 was the laces. The quicklace system is an absolute winner with trail shoes. They are stable and don't tend to loosen as easily as your standard cotton laces.

The profeel film is another bonus as it helps protect from sharp surfaces and rocks.

Breathability

The resistant fabrics and anti-debris mesh are the perfect combos for giving your foot that breathable place whilst working hard to perform well.

The anti-debris mesh means your feet will feel the airflow and won't have the unwanted debris gathering on the exterior.

Who Are These Trail Shoes For?

The Salomon Sense 4 trail shoes are designed for runners that are looking for adventure. They have the outsole for tougher terrain and heavier running and the GORE-TEX invisible fit makes these shoes lighter and feel more flexible.

This shoe offers you maximum performance and supreme comfort. The 8mm drop is generous enough for your foot to feel the benefit when in transition, and your stride will feel more responsive and have that bounce feel rather than a flat form.

Comparison to Similar Trail Runners

The Endorphin trail offers PeBax cushioning for a maximum bounce back feel, an 8mm offset for a smooth transition in every stride, and an excellent padded sock and collar.

Altra Footwear Superior 5 – The name speaks for itself as these shoes are superior. The brand is exceptional and known for its expertise in the sporting industry. The Altra Superior is armed with a FootShape toe box to allow for room and a movable space for your toes, a Quantic foam midsole for added flexibility, and a removable StoneGuard rock plate for protection and stability.
