Airflow

Airflow

Sandals are just the best shoes for airflow, period. When half the upper is open space, you’re generally gonna have a really easy time making a breathable shoe. The Under Armour Marbella VI is no exception. It is light and open, with a synthetic upper that feels soft and fits great on any feet. No chafing from the heat in these thong sandals. In the summer, it can be so uncomfortable when our sandal’s hard edges begin to rub on our feet due to sweat. With a soft lining and flexible construction, the Marbella VI keeps us cool and comfortable. No need to be frustrated with a hot, plastic thong that gives you blisters every time you wear it. This Marbella VI is the ideal choice for those trying to beat the heat in something simple that isn’t totally bare bones like some other summer styles.
Color

Color

Usually, when considering buying a pair of thong sandals, there are only a few color options. Unless you’re looking at those giant discount racks of five dollar flip-flops that break in a week, you probably will have the choice between basic black, white, and possibly a tan color. Well, that won’t be a problem with the Under Armour Marbella VI. This cushioned thong actually comes in ten different colors for you to choose from. Whatever your style or taste, there is a perfectly suited color option to give you exactly the shoe you want. Reviewers seemed partial to the colors that were in the gray and blue tones. Black was also a large seller for this Under Armour Marbella VI. Whether you choose a multicolored pair or one of the more reserved options, this sandal has everything you need in terms of comfort, so the color selection is just the finishing touch on an already wonderful product. If you are indecisive, you could also just get a few pairs to swap out during the warm weather months!
Durability

Durability

Sandals have a nasty habit of breaking. You don’t need anyone to tell you this, you’ve probably experienced it more than a few times either on vacation or at the pool. Breaking a thong sandal is a nightmare, there is no comfortable way to deal with it. Save yourself the trouble of having to by getting yourself the Under Armour by Marbella VI. Reviewers loved that this held up well to rain, puddles, and even the beach. Quick drying times weren’t necessarily the reason it was such a popular shoe for poolside or beachside fun. What the main appeal was, actually, was that their feet weren’t sliding or uncomfortable when they got wet in the Marbella VI. Sand-filled shoes are a sensational nightmare, and most found this Under Armour option to not be uncomfortable at all when wearing them at the beach. Slipping around in sandals can be especially dangerous, so a sandal that allows your foot to sit comfortably in it even when it is a bit wet is a life-saver. The overwhelming reviews supporting the resilience of this sandal were quite unique to such a low-profile footwear option.
Flexibility

Flexibility

While flexibility isn’t a make or break feature of all shoes, flat shoes and sandals without platforms generally require quite a bit of giving to be fully comfortable. This light and flexible outsole on the Under Armour Marbella VI is the first step towards a super flexible and easy to wear sandal. All the materials used in making this footwear from Under Armour are light and pliable. Using soft but strong materials makes the flexibility factor of the Marbella VI far beyond just sufficient. You will love the way that these move with your foot. If you are a fan of a close fitting shoe that moves with you, this pick from Under Armour is just the option for you. Foam is used as the cushioning, but the system of layered foam doesn’t create an unrelenting stiffness like some EVA midsoles will. The EVA of the base is topped with a softer more cloudlike footbed which doesn't make the shoe feel harder or uncomfortable to wear. This is a great and versatile pick for an easy-to-wear slip-on.
Price

Price

You can get a pair of flip-flops for just a few bucks, but the quality of shoe you’re going to be purchasing is incredibly low. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t have to spend a fortune for a good pair of practical sandals, but you definitely need to spend more than just a few dollars. This Under Armour Marbella VI is priced competitively, at a lower bracket than many other performance sportswear brands. That means that the Marbella VI is incredibly accessible for all sandal wearers who need something that packs more support punch than a basic thong sandal. This Marbella VI comes at a great value for its quality. It will last for multiple seasons and be comfortable for the beach, errands, or even as a house shoe for people with foot problems. Reviewers found the price to be reasonable and well worth it. Once you slip the shoe on, you will feel the difference between it and its competitors. Not to mention you’ll be saving money as well!
Size

Size

Many reviewers made mention of switching to this Under Armour Marbella VI style from a similar Nike style for quite a few reasons. One, in particular, was due to sizing. Where their old favorite shoe became narrow and hard to wear, the Marbella fit like a charm. A few people did have an issue with the straps, however. In the larger sizes, it appears some of the straps may be set too far back, leaving too much toe room, which gives a weird appearance. Others said that the straps were very low to the footbed of the sandal, making it very hard to even slide their feet in at all. Despite these claims about the straps, which very well may have been defecting, the overwhelming consensus was that these Under Armour Marbella VIs were true to size and fit great. Most said that the straps stayed flush on their feet and didn’t feel insecure when walking in them.
Style

Style

The sporty style is definitely always going to be in among those who wear activewear, however, there are different levels and ways to wear that style that are either on-trend or not so trendy. This Under Armour Marbella VI is not the cutest shoe. It is a basic thong sandal style, so if you are into that and are comfortable wearing that type of look, then this really won’t be a concern. They just aren’t super stylish nor will they turn heads. The comfort element is really unbeatable, with so many reviewers mentioning that it is their all-time favorite sandal. When you look at the Marbella VI, however, it is just kind of lacking in pizzazz. The style is a bit bland and dated. Most people aren’t going to be wearing thong sandals such as these for show though, it is a shoe mostly concerned with how it feels and how you feel in it. That isn’t a bad thing. No frills comfort and a large array of colors are enough to make this shoe a really wonderful option for a lot of different people. We aren’t generally buying thong sandals to wear on the runway, so as long as you don’t mind the look, you’re golden, because the performance can’t be beaten. Plus, because they’re thong sandals, you can really only see the top straps when wearing them, so the super sporty aesthetic is pretty low-profile to begin with.
Support

Support

It is so rare to get to gush about support on a sandal such as this. Normally slip in thongs are anything but supportive. After a long day walking around on vacation, your feet will ache, your arch will be sore, you just overall will not be having a great time. For the Under Armour Marbella VI, this will not be the case. First, it is built to contour to the foot. Those natural curves of our feet that so many sandals neglect will be cradled by this Under Armour pick. Then comes the layers of foam. That is right: layers. There are multiple layers added to this Marbella VI for comfort. This performance 4D foam actually physically will shift to be a more custom fit to your foot, which is fantastic. The proprietary footbed is molded and then forms to the exact shape of the wearer's foot. Custom sandals seem like a thing of make-believe but with this layering, you will be pleasantly surprised with just how effective the Under Armour 4D foam technology is. Arch support is included in the anatomical molding of the shoe itself, then the ball of foot and heel are cradled by this insanely effective foam. If you love sandals and love to be out in the sun, but cannot bear to wear flat sandals that kill your feet, there are options like the Under Armour Marbella IV that will be just right for you. Be warned, though, there is a slight break in period before the foam will perfectly form to your foot.
Traction

Traction

Sandals can truly be a death trap. Seeing as we often wear them in wet locations such as a dangerously slippery pier or boardwalk, it really pays to have a pair with great traction. On this Marbella VI by Under Armour, the grip is well thought out to best serve the wearer in any conditions. Reviewers had no problems slipping or sliding whatever their surroundings. That is because the traction on the Marbella VI by Under Armour is multidirectional. So while some lines are going horizontal, others are going vertical. This large striped pattern of traction act as an interlock on the ground, ensuring you stay put wherever you are standing. Concentrated on the heel and ball of the foot, which is exactly where you need it most, the deep texture of the Marbella VI will make every step feel like a safe one. Generally, the most thong sandals will get in the form of traction is weird dimpling on the underside of the outsole, which just isn’t sufficient. Under Armour realizes real people need real grip and provide it here.
Weight

Weight

Ultra-light sandals are in! It never feels good to have to lug around a too-heavy pair of shoes on a hot day. The best way to avoid that is obviously by choosing a light option that you will love to put on. The Under Armour Marbella VI is light-as-a-feather, thanks to quite a few features. First, their outsole is EVA, which is an incredibly light foam that will feel nearly weightless when wearing. They avoid bulk by using anatomical contours, which create support without adding any weight or additional materials. Then, for softness and comfort, they add their 4D performance foam. All the elements, including the upper, are lightweight. A warm-weather shoe should never make you drag your feet and this pair from Under Armour definitely won’t.
Bottom Line

Bottom Line

Anyone in the market for a fantastic sandal doesn’t have to look any further than the Under Armour Marbella VI. If you enjoy its style and are not bothered by the incredibly sporty aesthetic, this is a wonderfully versatile comfort option all will love. A couple of reviewers struggled with the upper but the positive response far overshadowed those experiences. The anatomical footbed and proprietary 4D foam create awesome support that you don’t need to be a shoe lover to appreciate.
