Sole Society Rumi Review
A Connecticut native, Brett Markinson launched Sole Society.com in 2012, one year after he co-founded the sale website Hautelook.com. However, Sole Society is a direct to consumer platform for apparel, shoes, bags and other accessories in which you can support your shoe, bag and accessory addiction. Oh and it does has some pretty sweet selection too.
By going to Sole Society you can shop for every occasion, you can create an entire outfit from head to toe and it’s all in one place. You don’t even have to lift a finger.
Remember when Carrie Bradshaw said that shopping is her cardio? Well, it doesn’t have to be so exhausting and there are now places that cater your every need without even stepping out of your home. If only Carrie Bradshaw knew about it, right?
Places like Sole Society. One such sweet product is their Sole Society Rumi shoe, and it’s gorgeous. Let’s break it down, and present the shoe in the most honest way so you can get an honest and informed opinion before purchasing.
Tassel and strap details
Supportive, chunky heel
Neutral styles to match everything
No vegan option
The heel of the Rumi boot which measures 3 inches, is stacked to have a more polished and beautiful appearance with two different tones of raisin. The lighter and darker tones or raisin are stacked one on top of the other, giving this boot a beautiful finish in the outsole. Just look at those layers. They practically look like a gorgeous crape cake, and the entire boot is so yummy that you just want to eat it. But the outsole is not only glued to the midsole, for extra protection of the foot it’s also stitched with a beautiful and highly durable thread.
The sides of the shoes are reinforced with zipper, just to make the putting on the shoes, and taking them off a little easier. But even without the added easement of the zipper, the boot’s opening measures about 10 and a half inches around. That’s around the ankle of course since they’re an ankle length boots. The suede is both glued and stitched to the outsole, making it highly durable and waterproof. There will be no leakage or the added pressure of having the boots slip open after prolonged wearing. The Rumi model will stay as they were for a quite long time.
Oh and those gorgeous tassels also made from suede really paint the picture of these shoes. First, they begin as lovely strap details around the opening of the shoe. The design of the straps makes the appearance like they’re wrapped around your ankle and then tied around the sides in a beautiful knot, which forms a loose tassel. The tassel is decorative but creates a beautiful finish to a beautiful shoe. Yes, the boots would look fantastic even without the tassel, but just adding it, gives these boots a bold, interesting look without being ostentatious.
And have you noticed that there isn’t anything besides the tassels on the boot’s design? No added beating, not unnecessary metal hardware? No, why ruin a perfectly simple, elegant boot with adding a lot of stuff? If you can improve the look, then sure, but there’s no room for improvement here because you can’t improve perfection. The simplistic nature of the boots increases their value, so it would be pointless to make them more elegant than this. A simple suede tassel is quite enough to make them elegant and beautiful.
The minimalism in the detailing makes them a blank canvas to any modern woman, and although they do have some tassels the minimalism in the detailing is what makes them so timeless. You can wear them now and two years from now and they won’t lose their beauty, style, and edginess. Because sometimes, having a class is more important than having current trends in your shoe wardrobe. And if you’re in need of classy boots that provide you with timeless elegance like the Rumi boots, that you’ll be happy with them for a very long time.
However, just because they’re more winter-leaning boots, they need to have a more rugged outsole. The thicker set of ridges in the outsole would really make the boots a lot more traction prone and durable in any type of terrain. As they’re right now, they’re highly slippery and with the 3 inches heel, they’re a little too dangerous for wearing in rough terrains. It’s the only thing that would improve these otherwise amazing pair of boots. If they only had a little bit more stability in the outsole.
