Aesthetics

Aesthetics

Most people stray from a lot of diversity in print or pattern when it comes to footwear. What is great about sandals is that they can break more rules than the average style due to generally being worn in more casual, laidback settings. This little slip-on is a wonderful option for a chill day at the beach. A pretty floral print accents plain heather for a real pop of texture in the fabric. Stitching to separate the two prints makes this a bit modern. The Skechers Monarch Sport just oozes Hawaiian vibes. A slight heel helps to balance the foot but also aids in elongating the leg and ensuring you look amazing when you step out in this pair of Skechers. A large array of colors ensures you will have a pair to match every style you like to rock, whether it is daring or carefree. This look is absolutely sporty but feminine enough to wear with a solid shift dress or beach cover-up. You will look just as natural wearing the Monarch Sport with capris as you will enjoy the gorgeous sun on your shoulders in a cool peasant dress.
Brand

Brand

Skechers has become a truly trusted brand all over the world thanks to years of dedication focused on creating the trendiest shoes feel great too. The brand is one of the largest across the world for footwear, and their business just grows with every new design. A few years ago Skechers made a serious shift to leave behind designs that were solely intended for comfort. Their amazing sneakers were not always easy on the eyes, so when they began to secure celebrity endorsements and create footwear designed to help people on fitness journeys, at work, and in their everyday life, consumers were elated at the prospect. Skechers knows exactly what is trending and exactly what that trend could be best applied to, whether it be an easy slip-on or a colorful lace-up style. Their products are fantastic and inexpensive, two boxes that are rarely both ticked on an item these days. Skechers values community and service, uplifting those around them and launching humanitarian campaigns to show their commitment to helping to change the world one shoe at a time.
Breathability

Breathability

Just from looking at the Monarch Sport, you can immediately see the fabric has some amazingly breathable qualities. The material is lined with a fabric that allows for a lot of air to flow through it. The footbed of the shoe has visible lines that you can see at a glance. This helps to ensure you won’t be sticking to the footbed creating unwanted heat and perspiration. Though it isn’t their intended purpose, it certainly is a nice feature when it comes to remaining cool in the Monarch Sport. The soft offer feels similar to a jersey material. Being that it is so light, it is no wonder that it almost feels weightless on the foot. The upper bands are cut very generously which will reduce chafing or excessive clinging that can make a shoe feel too hot on the foot. This pair of Skechers is really hard to compete with when it comes to a shoe you will love throughout the warmer weather. If you are hesitating on buying the classic plastic slide or flip-flop, and instead want something more comfortable and less sporty, the Monarch Sport might have just the feminine touch you are looking for.
Comfort

Comfort

The footbed on the Monarch Sport by Skechers is next level, literally. Five gen cushioning by Skechers does a great job to reduce the impact of each and every step. A buttery soft upper holds your foot in place without constricting or pinching the foot. Their footbed is completely contoured to offer support exactly where you need it. There is a slight heel and incline on the Monarch Sport, which also reduces strain and pain on the arch or the ball of the foot. Sandals can be more trouble than they are worth, so many people stick with the more traditional throwaway options in the summer. When you feel the difference between the classic flip-flop and this Skechers Monarch Sport, you will be dying to know what took you so long to discover such a phenomenal shoe. Footwear doesn’t have to be painful nor does obtain it have to be inconvenient. Forget shopping for orthopedic shoes and specialty shops just for a sandal that you can bear to wear, these Skechers are available at a wide range of retailers, despite their comfort seeming incredibly specialized. Anyone who struggles with foot pain or discomfort in a flatter, less accommodating shoes have got to try the Monarch Sport and see what Skechers is all about.
Durability

Durability

One concern I have immediately when looking at this pair of Skechers is durability. Foam-soled footwear can tend to have a few downsides to it. Firstly, foam is so incredibly soft it degrades very quickly. When a sandal like the Monarch Sport takes the foam all the way to the outsole, there is an increased chance of intense wear and tear happening rather quickly. These advertise as machine washable, but many reviewers found they had better results washing by hand with laundry soap and baking soda to keep them clean. Handling them by washing them manually will definitely extend the life of any shoe, even if it says it is okay to machine wash it. You may run into scuffs on the outsole if you decide to go with one with a lighter color, which can be frustrating while wearing the shoe. A magic eraser or a similar product can easily help you clean and maintain even your lightest sole colors. The upper of the Monarch Sport is ready for anything, but a fair warning is necessary when it comes to the materials of the sole of the shoe. They may feel lovely against the skin and cushion-soft, and that's cause they are, but cushioning often means weakness when it comes to matters such as longevity.
Fit

Fit

Reviewers were totally undecided when it came to the fit of this Monarch Sport. The initial posters had said that it runs wide and large in the upper, so much so, in fact, that it gaps and looks unnatural in the lighter color options. This does look cut wide enough to accommodate wide feet, but that shouldn't affect how it fits in every size on every person’s foot. As if this wasn’t confusing enough, then reviewers were saying the upper may run narrow. Size discrepancies happen, and in a soft shoe like this, there could be so many causes to this type of disagreement. For all intents and purposes, we are not really sure the cause. We can just urge you to be cautious considering the fit complaints. Luckily, free returns are offered, meaning that if you do have an issue, that can be quickly addressed as soon as possible so you can get into the size that is right for you.
Price

Price

A huge part of Skechers claim to fame is their price. It may seem surprising due to how popular and common Skechers are, but they are actually one of the more affordable options, especially in sneakers, that is on the market. With that being said, the price of the Monarch Sport might floor you. Coming in at slightly below the price of name brand sneakers, consumers should beware of the higher price-tag on this item than one may expect. Many people feel even paying half what this Skechers costs for a sandal is outlandish. The silver lining is that reviewers said that the price was absolutely worth it. It was hard to find a single purchaser who didn’t feel this Monarch Sport gave them their money’s worth in a multitude of ways. This style is very fashion-forward, it isn’t the typical sporty option you may find that match its level of foot pampering. If you are convinced there is never a reason to spend more than a certain amount on summer shoes, then so be it! It is understandable that this price may seem hefty to a lot of people who are loyal to Skechers, but few people found the value of the shoes to somehow be diminished due to how much was paid for them.
Shock Absorption

Shock Absorption

Minimalist sandals are an amazing look, but they are also sort of a nightmare on your feet. So few sandals that are flat have any sort of shock absorption capacity. If you are walking on a thin leather sole of a nearly non-existent layer of foam, you will more than likely feel frustrated and sore after a long day. What is so great about the Monarch Sport is that it doesn't require there to be able addition bulk onto the foot. The footbed, midsole, and outsole all come together to defend their high-energy return. A high energy return from your soles means that the spring in your step will be not only restored but maintained. A great sandal that can absorb shock is necessary to fight fatigue in the legs and feet. Without this feature, so many pairs of footwear fall flat, pun intended. Skechers wants to keep everyday light and carefree for the people wearing their shoes, and the Monarch Sport is the perfect example of their commitment to a shoe that will keep you active and happy the whole time you are wearing it.
Support

Support

There is so much support built into the Monarch Sport by Skechers. The 5 gen molded footbed will bring you to tears. Their slight incline at the heel allows for additional support for those with arch problems and other mobility or gait issues. These shoes are for everyone who wants to wear them, as they are totally ready for absolutely everything. Two thick top straps come across the foot to ensure that every part of the foot is aligned correctly with the shoe to offer much more support just by virtue of the anatomical footbed being fully able to support where you need to be supported. The soft sides wrap around an insole that is to die for. The Skechers Goga Max insole is insanely strong while still feeling super plush. A high-rebound insole gives you back all the energy you put into it, creating an another-worldly wearing experience for those inside the footwear.
Traction

Traction

Deep traction usually translates to good traction, depending on the terrain you want your shoes to grip. This Skechers Monarch Sport has deep grooves and an interesting pattern intended to boost the traction on the shoe, but it poses some problems. As mentioned, this shoe, at least the base, is made primarily of foam. That means all those great parts on the bottom of the shoe that would allow for traction will be ground down, making it harder and harder to hold on to the ground beneath you. Though their traction would be sufficient otherwise, their materials definitely fail here. Additional texture may be added to the toe and heel, but there is still a question of if it is enough to protect you from taking a tumble. The body of the outsole is oddly relatively bare beyond those cut-aways, so if you are expecting to use these for every day/outdoor wear, you may need to rethink your choice.
Bottom Line

Bottom Line

There are so many reasons to buy a new sandal for the warm weather, but when they are as gorgeous as the Skechers Monarch Sport, you don’t even need a reason. The support is revolutionary for a flip-flop. The Skechers Monarch Sport rejects the idea that shoes that feel great have to look ugly. The Monarch Sport is an adorable contemporary style that would make a great test subject to try working into your wardrobe, especially if you are used to the dull styles that are barely practical.
