Mixed finishes and styles accent the curves and angles of the woman’s foot in these D’Orsay style sandals that are crafted for comfort and grace. D’Orsay is the term used to describe a woman’s shoe which has the inside, or both sides, carved out of the shoe, revealing the arch of the foot, and the vamp is cut close to the toe box. The toe is also open in this case. The Zula pump features a modest wedge heel, easy slip on design, and Naturalizer’s signature N5 Contour cushioning. The upper material is a mixture of leather and suede, both great quality products that provide flexibility and breathability along with comfort and a chic look. Synthetic lining provides extra comfort because it is smooth, and also keeps your feet dry and cool by wicking up moisture. The sole is synthetic rubber with a ridged pattern on the heel and forefoot to give you extra grip in wet conditions. The Zula pump has a 2 ½ inch heel height and comes in whole and half sizes from 4-12, as well as a wide width option. It has been reported that they run true to size. Enjoy a cushioned sole, lightweight construction, flexible sole and upper, and breathable lining; all things customers have grown to love and expect from Naturalizer products.

Make a statement, make it your statement. Make your own look!
N5 Contour Technology

N5 Contour Technology

The Zula pump features N5 Contour technology from Naturalizer. Naturalizer has always been committed to designing shoes with the all day comfort you need and deserve. The patented N5 Contour technology will take you anywhere you need to go with its legendary comfort and support that you can actually feel. N5 gives your extra cushioning with latex foam at three critical places. It’s under the ball of the foot, in the insole at strike contact, and the whole length of the lining. All of this together will absorb shock, support body weight, and distribute pressure. N5 shoes have breathable lining located on the sock cover and interior. Porous synthetic material that allows plenty of air flow will permit heat and moisture to dissipate, which is going to keep your feet cooler and drier. The heel shapes are crafted specifically for stability. The inside heel cup will also provide a more secure fit. The shape of the heel and the cup inside will promote a stable heel strike and toe off, enabling a more natural stride. Flexible materials are used for both the insole and the outsole, which will help your shoes move more naturally with your foot, relieving pressure. Lastly, lightweight, but durable, materials are used throughout the entire construction of Naturalizer’s N5 Contour shoes. This makes them capable of providing lasting comfort without being weighed down with layers and layers of material.
Upper

Upper

Leather and suede are ideal choices when it comes to certain styles of footwear. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what is best for your personal wants and needs. Suede is the option for those who wants to look more fancy and unique. The texture is simply captivating and easy on the eye. It’s fantastic for aesthetics and definitely a great tool to take your outfit to the next level. The downside to suede material on anything is that it is very easy to get dirty and stained. Rain and snow do not mix well with this material, and if you don’t keep them clean they can be ruined. There are products that can help protect your suede though, so don’t let this scare you away too easily. In many people’s opinion, leather is the best option of all. It takes more grime to get it dirty, and when it does get dirty, it’s more easily washed. Just rinse them off or use a wet rag. Leather looks more polished, and obviously more natural than canvas (since it comes from animals), and it can be worn in all scenarios while still looking sleek and modern. Leather can also be repaired and replaced, extending the life of your shoes. It is stretchy and flexible, making for a more personalized feel to the fit. Over time, the leather will mold to the shape of your foot.
Outsole

Outsole

The outsole of the Zula pump is synthetic rubber that features a ridged area on the heel and the forefoot for added grip in wet conditions. Since the pattern is designed to be slip-resistant, it is most effective to have as much of it come in contact with the ground/floor as possible. Rubber is flexible by nature, meaning the break in period is shorter. The sturdiness of rubber will also give you more comfort under your foot due to the extra support. You won’t be able to feel every little thing you step on because it is shock-absorbant. Keep in mind the sole on this pump isn’t extremely thick, so it won’t protect you the way it would on hiking boot or work boots. Rubber does not, however, have the ability to conform to the shape of your foot like leather does. This could, in time, cause an uncomfortable ride if the rest of the shoe isn’t set up to pick up the slack. A good quality rubber (even synthetic) sole will last you a good amount of time. Just be careful not to get any cracks in it. Once they start, they just get bigger and then your shoe is ruined.
Heel

Heel

The classic wedge style has returned to the fashion scene and it is gaining popularity quick. Women are becoming fed up with the unnecessary pain of wearing high heels to events and work. You shouldn’t have to be in pain to make a good impression on your peers. High heels put a ton of pressure on the balls of your feet and your knees. They can even shorten your calf muscles after a long period of use. There is a way to look taller and feel more confident without all the pain and suffering. Wedge style heels exist, and they are designed to help you appease the damage done by stiletto style heels. They’re not a total solution. Any heel puts your feet in an unnatural position. But the negative effects are drastically smaller with wedges.

Wedges are stable. They allow more of your foot to touch more surface area and take some strain off of the ball of your foot. They usually have more cushioning as well, protecting your feet at least a little more than high heels do. Wedges offer your arch a lot more support because they have a wider footprint. High heels typically have a very narrow platform for your poor arch to carry all of the weight.
Stability

Stability

A wedge heel will, of course, provide you with more stability than a typical thin high heel. It is still a heel though, forcing your feet into an unnatural position, so you will never achieve the stability you have when your foot is allowed to be in its natural state. You have a lot more support under your foot with a wedge heel. The footprint is wider, making enough room for your whole foot, and giving you support on your arches. Giving you more of a surface to walk on and taking away some pressure from your arches and the ball of your foot will help you walk more comfortably and stably. These pumps do not feature an open heel, so you have a bit of support around your ankles to lessen the risk of rolling and injuring your ankle. The thicker heel and platform that extends from heel to toe also aid tremendously in stability. You won’t be wobbling around as much when you wear shoes with a wedge heel. You also won’t be as likely to get stuck in cracks or moist earth.
Protection

Protection

You can’t expect much in the way of protection when you wear the Naturalizer Women’s Zula Pump. While there are a few features that can offer some protection as far as stability and keeping your feet from sweating profusely, there are ways that the design of this pump will never be able to protect you. You can count on plenty of cloud-like comfort from the N5 Contour technology from Naturalizer that is incorporated throughout the whole shoe. The width of the heel, the platform that runs from heel to toe, and the fact that the shoe wraps around your Achilles tendon will all work to protect you from foot injury and foot/leg/back pain and discomfort. The leather upper and breathable lining help protect your feet from excessive sweat that can cause irritation and foot diseases by absorbing moisture. The leather upper will also expel your sweat in the form of vapor. Having an open toe and D’Orsay design, the pump does not protect your toes or the top of your feet from falling objects or wet conditions. Be sure to wear these pumps only in appropriate situations, environments, weather.
Color

Color

This pump is offered in four stunning color options. You can choose between black, icy grey, soft marble, or rose multi (rose, black, and grey).

You can go classic and wear black on black (black clothes with black wedges), or you can be more daring and pair your black wedges with bright, loud colors for a gorgeous contrast. To make the contrast even more apparent, keep more of your outfit black and less of it a poppy color. It will make the color stand out even more and look more classy and trendy.

Icy grey can be paired with pretty much anything. What looks best is a combination of brights and pastels. Blues, yellows, greens, all go beautifully with grey, especially when put together well. Grey with electric and navy blue. Grey with gold, pink, orange, or red. Grey is an extremely versatile color. Have fun with it!
Soft marble is a very subtle pastel/baby pink. Pink is a gorgeous color, but can sometimes be difficult to pair with the right shades of other colors. With the right contrast though, you can create a chic and grown up look, instead of looking like a barbie or pepto bismol commercial.

One of the colors that goes well with pale pink is yellow. The pair create a bright, cheerful look. If you feel extra bold, mix in different shades of pink and yellow in your accessories and create a Victorian style look that will never go out of fashion.

In 2019, bronze is the hit metallic shade. Pink pairs perfectly with it! It reminds one of another wildly popular color right now: rose gold. Pairing pink and bronze is totally modern, but it also has a retro vibe that would fit in perfectly in the 60’s!
Bottom Line

Bottom Line

The Zula pump may not provide you with outstanding protection against the elements, and you won’t be able to run a marathon in them; but when you need a shoe to wear for something special, or even just to work, you can reach for this wedge. Keep it out of bad weather and it will continue to be a key item in your closet for a long time. The design of this pump is geniusly trendy and functional. You can enjoy a more comfortable ride than you would in stilettos. The wedge style provides more surface area under your foot, alleviating some pressure off of your arch and ball of your foot. The footprint is wider than that in typical heels, taking even more pressure off of your arch. The D’Orsay design and open toe give you a casual, yet sophisticated look. The possibilities of stunning outfits are endless with the Naturalizer Women’s Zula Pump.
