Franco Sarto started his career in shoes as a cobbler that the mere age of 14 in a small town outside of Venice, Italy. From there he took his passion for shoes and design and created his line of elegant Italian footwear that blends affordability, style, and comfort. Their shoes are designed to pay homage to an older style shoe with a more contemporary style.

The Franco Sarto Tokyo tries to fit into the companies trifecta, but they seem to be lacking a bit when it comes to comfort. There are some out there that believe they are incredibly uncomfortable, mostly because they lack cushioning in the midsole and there is no padding under the arches for support. Where the shoes thrive is the style and affordability. They bring you a classic style that fits in for most occasions, whether professional, casual, or formal. They have a moderate, but the affordable price tag and they have great longevity which makes them a pretty decent investment, saving you money in the long run. Overall, they are a pretty good pair of pumps and would look great as part of your shoe collection.

Heel

Heel

The Franco Sarto Tokyo pumps feature a wrapped stiletto heel that measures at about 2.5 to 3 inches (depending on the size you order) to give you some height that many women can appreciate, but not too much that they become unstable and uncomfortable. They do have a thin heel, but the short stature of them allows you to walk around on them more easily than if you were walking on higher shoes. They are great a those who are not used to wearing heels or just want something little.
Outsole

Outsole

The human-made rubber sole is designed to be somewhat durable, so you don't have to fear them wearing down too quickly. They don't have too much of a thread pattern on the bottom, but that is common for other similar types of footwear. You will want to be careful if you encounter any slick patches such as ice or a wet spot. You do not want to take the risk of slipping on a slippery surface because you weren't careful.
Midsole

Midsole

The Franco Sarto's do not have a whole lot going for them in the way of a midsole. They have a soft lining on the footbed which gives them a decent feeling along your skin while you're walking, but there is not really any padding underfoot to keep you comfortable. They seem to have a fair amount of comfort to them, but not a whole lot since they're lacking cushioning. Some customers might want to add some additional gel inserts at the toes or under their arches for extra support and overall comfort.
Uppers

Uppers

The uppers of the Franco Sarto Tokyo pumps are either made out of suede or leather, depending on the color option you decide to purchase. Either way, you are sure to have a durable pair of heels that will not wear down too quickly or rip easily.

They feature a slingback strap that has an elastic insert designed to help keep your foot where it needs to be but gives you a little bit of freedom for a better and more comfortable fit.
Breathability

Breathability

The heels have a synthetic lining inside of them that gives you a breathable pair of shoes that your feet can appreciate, especially if you're wearing them on warm days or hitting the dance floor with them. Yes, there is a good portion of your foot already exposed to the air which can help cool you down throughout the day or evening, but the parts that are inside the shoe can sometimes heat up and get a little too warm. You won't have that problem with the Tokyo's as they will easily let air flow into the forefront of the pumps, cooling you down. This is also going to help get rid of any sweat from your feet you may experience, keeping you dry and promoting a healthier environment inside of your shoes.
Durability

Durability

When you're shopping for a pair of dress shoes, you are going to want to try to find something that is going to last you more than a handful of events. You want a pair that'll last you, especially if you are paying a decent amount of money for them. The Tokyo's have a moderate price tag so they are definitely not the most expensive shoes out there and most believe that they are a pretty good deal and well worth the money they spend on them. They are highly durable and are not going to wear and tear prematurely, causing you to have to replace them after only a couple of uses.
Flexibility

Flexibility

These pumps feature a flexible sole which will give you some added comfort overall in the shoe. They are going to bend and move with your feet while you are taking a step, allowing you a more freeing and natural movement. You are not going to feel like you are restricted while you're walking or dancing; you can move with ease.
Comfort

Comfort

There are a few mixed reviews when it comes to the overall comfort level of these pumps. There are some who think that they are utterly uncomfortable, as there is hardly any cushioning underfoot and no arch support at all. They have also stated that the shoe cuts into their big toes, causing pain and discomfort throughout the day. This can lead to blisters which nobody wants to have to deal with.

There are also many customers who feel that the heels offer a decent amount of comfort and had no problems with how they felt on their feet through the day or evening. They have mentioned that the straps feel nice and snug around their ankles, without any tightness at all.

For the most part, it seems to be more of an issue with finding the correct size for the optimal fit as well as how your feet are shaped. If you have high arches, then you can expect that you'll have some discomfort in that area as there isn't enough cushioning there to accommodate that.
Support

Support

If you are going out for a night on the town or a date with someone special, you want to try to make sure that what you put on your feet is going to stay on your feet. Support is crucial to both your comfort and your safety. You want your shoes to hug your feet and keep you firmly in place throughout the night. You aren't going to want to experience a Cinderella situation and walk right out of your heels. Thankfully, that is a situation that you won't have to deal with. The vamp is snug across your toes, and the elastic slingback strap help keep your foot inside the shoe, so it isn't going to go anywhere.

Arch support, however, is sorely lacking in the Franco Sarto slingbacks. Customers have had many complaints about the lack of cushioning, and more particularly, the lack of padding under their arches. Of course, you can always purchase gel inserts that you can place where you need them, but consumers aren't always pleased when they have to buy something extra because what the new shoes they just bought cannot give them what the need.
Style

Style

The Franco Sarto Tokyo's feature a slingback design with an elastic insert on the strap to give more of personalized fit to suit your needs. They have a pointed toe and a heel that measures in at about 2.5-3 inches. The covered heel matches the rest of the shoe, unifying the look overall and making them a little more aesthetically pleasing.

They are available in a few color options so you are going to be sure to find something that will suit your style needs. You can get them in beet, black, lilac, cerulean (blue), or white (with a blush heel). It won't matter what color you choose to buy will look great in them.

The pumps give you a versatile design, looking great for a plethora of activities. They'll fit right in at the office paired with a pencil skirt or dress slacks, and they will transition well into your nightlife, looking great with an elegant dress or skinny jeans. No matter what you're doing or where you're going, let these heels be your go-to shoes.
Fit

Fit

Trying to find the proper fit for your shoes can prove to be difficult sometimes, especially if you're ordering them online. There are some guides and tools you can use to try to determine what you should order if you don't have an idea. The great thing about the Franco Sarto Tokyo's is that they are running true to size so it is going to take out some of that guesswork of choosing what you should get.

Something that many customers can appreciate about these pumps is that they are also available in wide widths so they can accommodate a larger number of women with all different sized feet. It can sometimes be challenging to find cute shoes such as these in wide sizes so it is nice to know that this can give you that.
Stability

Stability

The Tokyo pumps have a thin stiletto heel, but it is relatively short, giving them a decent amount of balance. Customers don't seem to have any problems staying upright in these heels, and even those who aren't used to wearing them rarely have any issues.

If you find that you need a more stable base, then you can always choose to get some clear heel stoppers. These will give you broader support on your heel while barely being noticeable. Not only will it give you slightly more stability, but it will also help out those who are attending outdoor events. The heel stoppers can prevent your shoes from sinking into the soft ground or getting stuck in cracks or grates.
Bottom Line

Bottom Line

If you're searching for a great looking pair of shoes for your next formal event or something cute to wear to the office, then look no further than the Franco Sarto Tokyo's. They come in a couple of color options and have a slip-on slingback design with a pointed toe silhouette. They will fit in at just about any event and pair great with a plethora of outfit choices. They have a moderate price tag but also a long life span so that you will get your money worth out of them. The downfall is that they don't seem to offer a lot when it comes to comfort. There are a handful of customers who were displeased with the lack of cushioning in the midsole and the non-existent arch support. If you aren't spending extended periods time on your feet, then you shouldn't have a lot of problems with the lack of cushioning.
