Briana’s Second Race- Madison, Wisconsin Crazylegs 8K

I must bring bad weather to my race days. This one held on April 25 was pouring rain accompanied by occasional thunder. Oh, and with a temperature of about 40F!

Perhaps because I just wanted to get to the finish line so I could be warm, I cut four minutes from my last race time and finished in 48:36.

I am also training for my first half-marathon, the inaugural Madison Mini-Marathon in August. I'm all ears for any tips!

It’s WalkJogRun.net’s (official) 4th Anniversary!

Here’s a quick look at how far we’ve come in these few short years:

  • In case you don’t know how we got started, in 2003 - long before Google Maps ever existed - Adam built the prototype of WalkJogRun while training for a 10k. He used (old school) DHTML to draw running routes on an uploaded map.
  • In February of 2005 Jeff started helping with some design for the site.
  • July 2005 brought a complete overhaul using Google Maps.
  • November of 2005 there were 2,000 routes in the system. At last count there are over 402,000 routes.
  • September of 2006 there were 32,000 unique visitors. Today? Over 52,000 unique visitors per month.
  • January 2007 there were 6,600 registered users. Today there are over 70,000 registered users!
  • Also in January 2007, there was an average of 550 new members per month. Today? Over 5,000 new members a month.

Thank you to all who helped us make the site everything it is today. We really couldn’t have done it without you!
