Beta Site Launch and Hats

Dear earnshavian,

There has been so much going on these last two months at WalkJogRun we can barely remember it all! We launched a podcast, changed the navigation around the site, created advertising opportunities, launched an app update, and more!

An Apology

We are incredibly sorry if any of you received duplicate copies of our last e-mail! We switched to a new delivery platform for our e-mails and many of you received two or more copies. We have figured out the problem and resolved it and, unless you have more than one WalkJogRun account, it won't happen again.

Huge Site Update

WalkJogRun is getting a facelift, and your input is crucial!

In our last e-mail we told you about the changes to WalkJogRun's site navigation. We've also been working away redesigning the site to make it easier for you to use everyday. We love the way it looks and think it will be much easier to use the site. We would also greatly appreciate your input on the new site. Please check out our beta-version of the site and let us know what you think!

If you notice something that's broken, let us know! If you think something looks awful, we'd love to hear about it. If you love it, please let us know! All of your suggestions help us build a site you love.

Key Features of the Re-Designed Site

  • The training plans, once only in the app, are now available online.
  • The map takes up less of the screen, which we think makes it easier navigating to other areas of the site
  • We've added a full screen button so you can still see the large map, without it taking up the whole page if you won't be using it. You can click the maximize button to view the map in full screen.

We hope you all have a great holiday!

Thanks for your time and for being involved with WalkJogRun!

WalkJogRun Race Hats

We designed a WalkJogRun race hat! They're perfect for running or wearing around town. They are manufactured by SweatVac, and incredibly durable. The hats are machine washable, which we know is absolutely necessary for runners. They reduce the glare of the sun during your runs, and keep sweat from dripping into your eyes.

We're offering them at a 25% discount from the list price, for $15!

We have a select amount available until the rest arrive in a few weeks. They're arriving to our office on Wednesday. If you select the proper shipping, they may arrive in time for Christmas. You can also ship one directly to a friend or loved one! Be sure to order yours today

SHOE DRIVE!

If you're in the area of our office, be sure to stop by and say hi and drop off your gently used shoes and sneakers. We have partnered with Share Your Soles to organize a shoe drive for them. They collect shoes to benefit impoverished people throughout the world. We're going to be taking a collection for the next three months. For more information about the shoe drive, check out our blog post!

Raffle Winner

Congratulations to Richard Tremblay, the winner of our Dane Rauschenberg book raffle for our November newsletter!

Richard's favorite running moment was "When I crossed the finish line of my very first timed run at the Quebec City marathon this past summer. This very day, Quebec City was struck by Hurricane Irene and the organization had to cancel the 42.2k event for safety reasons. I was running the 10K, facing winds of 40 km/hr. For me, it was the results of months of training and a complete change in my life habits."

Thank you to everyone else who participated!
