Great North Run on BBC Tyne Running Group on WalkJogRun
Are you doing the Great North Run? We're looking for people training for the race around Tyneside and Northumberland to share their favourite training routes. Add your favourite run to the group - however long - and tell us why it's good... maybe it's scenic, has lots of hills, or is a good one for recovery days.
Running Routes for this Group

A short senic running route through the dene. Hilly in places, particularly in the dene itself.
This is a very good training route that follows the Coast Road in South Shields (Passed the finishing line for the GNR). It takes you down towards the Sandhaven Beach and up towards Trwo Quarry and onto the coastal track. It's an excellent training route as the track curves in a few places and is slightly hilly in places to get those legs working!!! :)
