Running Routes for this Group
1/4 mile repeats
Run North from east side of N.ave. Bridge at 5k pace = 1/4 mile. Recover to the start and repeat segment.
CES Circuit Training Course
Warm up for 10 min = 1 loop Stations located along the course Push ups at Ben Squats at the Bridge Planks and Side Bridge's at the fork in the path after runners pass the ball field. Shuttle Run at Grant Monument. Tricep Dips at the North end of Bens Tree line.
CES 8 mile south
This is an out and back course. Start at North ave. bridge and run south on the LFP per the map. Turn just before the path begins to run on the side of the Shedd Aqurium. (Please see Map for turn)
CES 9 mile south
This is an out and back course. start at North Ave. Bridge and follow LFP south per map. Run south past Shedd Aquarium to the 3rd boat slip in Burnham Harbor.
CES 10 mile south
This is an out and back course. Start at North ave. Bridge and run south on LFP per map. Turn is south of Soldier field at 2nd to last boat slip in Burnham Park Harbor.
CES 12 miles south
Run Lakefront trail from North Ave. Bridge to McCormick Place. Continue South past McCormick place. Turn is the 29th street park located on the east side of the path.
11 Miles CES From North Ave Bridge
Start at North Avenue Bridge turn at the 0.0 Mile Marker between Foster and Bryn Mawr
CES 9 Mile Loop from North Ave Bridge
Start at North Avenue Bridge (west side) and head north. Turn around at 1.0 mile mark where the path crosses Lawrence (just past the winding section after Cricket Hill)
CES 8 Mile Loop from North Ave Bridge
Start at North Ave. Bridge (west side) and head north. Take the running path route to the right, just south of Montrose and head around Cricket Hill. Turn around at the 1.5 Mile Mark (currently missing) on the northeast side of the hill (just past the sidewalk that takes you under the park road towards the lake).
CES 7 Mile Loop from North Ave Bridge
Start at North Ave. Bridge (west side) and head north on path. Turn around at 2.0 mile mark just south of the split in the path before Montrose.
CES 6 Mile Loop from North Ave Bridge
Start at North Ave. Bridge (west side) and head north on path. Turn around at 2.5 mile mark next to playground, just south of Irving Park Rd.
CES 5 Mile Loop from North Ave Bridge
Start at North Ave. Bridge (west side) and head north on path. Turn around at 3.0 mile mark (currently missing) next to 2nd road sign for Recreation Drive.
CES 4 Mile Loop from North Ave Bridge
Start at North Avenue Bridge (west side) and run north. Turn around at 3.5 mile marker on fence at Belmont.
8 Mile Loop from Ben Franklin
Turn around at the 2.0 Mile Marker, just south of the split in the path, just south of Montrose Avenue.
6 Mile Loop from Ben Franklin
Turn around at 3.0 Mile Marker at 2nd Recreation Drive exit sign (as seen on Lakeshore Drive). Just south of drinking fountain before the Totem Pole.
5 Mile Loop from Ben Franklin
Turn around at the 3.5 Mile Marker on the fence near Belmont.
4 Mile Loop from Ben Franklin
Turn around at the 4.0 Mile Marker just north of Diversey.
CES 8 miles North - Summer
When the crushed limestone running path is in good condition. The start point is at the "Star Bank" sign on Eugenie. Eugenie over Stockton into park alongside Lasalle. Around softball fields along lake shore drive. At South Lagoon take left along path. Under fullerton bridge. Follow path north over Diversey past golf course and under LSD at Barry. Turn left (North) up lakefront path. Turn around at the 2.0/16.0 mile marker, just south of the split in the path (before Montrose).
