Kick off Goffstown Old Home Day with the inaugural Race to the Villa 5k. This fast, flat course follows a portion of the Goffstown Gallop and should prove to give runners some great PR's!
The course begins on a wide, flat trail off of Normand Road. Runners will take a left onto South Mast Rd. and run towards Goffstown Village which will be preparing for Old Home Day events. The course takes a right into Shirley Park Road and follows the horseshoe back out to South Mast Road. Runners will turn right onto East Union Street where they will be greeted by our water stop as they continue down East Union to St. Lawrence Church. At St. Lawrence, the race course takes a left with the runners then racing to the Villa. This return portion of the run will be completed on South Mast Road which will be open to traffic. We URGE runners to listen to instructions from our volunteers on the road and stay on the appropriate side of the safety cones. There are three road crossings. These areas will be clearly marked and manned by Goffstown Police. Please do not cross in other areas. This is a course that is open to traffic. For the safety of all the runners and the local traffic, please no dogs, strollers/jogging strollers or headphones. It is imperative for everyone's safety that all runner's remain alert and able to hear any instructions from course volunteers and police. The race begins at 8 AM. The race course MUST close at 9 AM in support of Old Home Day festivities. Please be sure you can walk/run 3.1 miles at a 19 minute/mile pace or better as the course will be shut down promptly at 9 AM. * The first 100 runners to register will receive a free race t-shirt! The first 200 runners will receive a fun goodie bag! Light refreshments will be served to all runners. We invite runners to check out the festivities in Goffstown Village for Old Home Day after the race. If runners are looking for a heartier post race meal, please visit St. Lawrence Church for their very reasonably priced breakfast being offered in the church hall opening at 9AM.
