The Delta Scholarship Fund 1st Annual 5K Run and Walk will loop through beautiful Lake Nokomis…Where things are taking off!
The Delta Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization providing educational scholarships to employees of Delta Air Lines and their eligible dependents worldwide for the opportunity to pursue higher education. Free parking within walking distance of the Lake Nokomis 5K starting point (limited off-street) or the option to pre-pay a city event-pass for the parking lot ($2). 06/18/2012 Update - Since the listing of the event on Active.com, and it culminating with Delta’s Annual ‘Employee’ Block Party, we are pleased to announce arrangements now have been made for an employee shuttle as another alternative to onsite parking. NOTE: the shuttle is unfortunately not open to the public, and for Delta Employees and their immediate families only who are able to present valid shuttle pass form or employee ID. Those interested in the Delta Employee Shuttle need to ‘contact event director’ to get signed up for the shuttle, get the shuttle times, and locations to this limited service. 6/19/2012 Update - Public showers will be available onsite after the 5K event. Ghost runner option is available for those wanting to support the fun event; however unable to physically attend due to timing and scheduling conflicts. Those choosing this option will be provided a time and location to receive race shirts closer to event date (local pickup only). Grand Prize Winners to receive a Delta Air Lines round-trip domestic coach ticket (valid for travel within the 48 states, Alaska, Mexico, Caribbean and Canada). Grand Prize winner categories include one overall female and one overall male winner. In the event of a race tie, one winner will be randomly selected from all winners in each race category. Tickets valid for one year. Must be 18 years of age or older to win tickets.Additional Information
