Join us for the second annual Spectacle Island 5K, Kids Fun Run & 3K Walk, brought to you by the Boston Harbor Island Alliance. Enjoy panoramic views of Boston Harbor and the city from this historic island. Race day festivities feature a 5K Race, a half-mile Kids Fun Run, 3K Walk, picnic lunch for participants, music, and kids' activities.

5K Race
5K (two loops) flat course on crushed stone around the perimeter of Spectacle Island. Volunteers calling mile splits. Water stations on course. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as top three male and female finishers in divisions. T-shirts to participants that pre-register by 5/25/2012. Limited bag check will be provided to participants.
“Race to the Saddle” Kids Fun Run
Half-mile fun run for children under 12 from the Visitor’s Center to the “Saddle” and back. All participants will receive an award at the finish line. Registration required. Please note that children under 12 will need adult supervision if the parents/guardians are running the 5K Race, as we do not have staff assigned to supervise the children.
3K Walk
Take in incredible views of the city skyline on this 3K (one loop) course around the perimeter of the Island and up to the “Saddle.” Water stations on course. T-shirts to participants that pre-register by 5/25/2012.
Ferry Transportation
You will be asked to schedule ferry travel upon registration. We recommend that you arrive at the dock no less than 20 minutes prior to your scheduled morning departure. Ferry tickets can be picked up at the Will Call window at the dock.
Both participants and spectators must pre-register
All attendees, including event participants and spectators, must register in order to receive ferry passage on and off the island.
5K Race, Kids Fun Run, and 3K Walk Guidelines
For the safety of participants and in adherence to USATF insurance guidelines, strollers, bicycles, inline skates, skateboards and dogs are not permitted.
