Worldwide Shelters TRI for Kids

Kick off the summer fit for a cause! Join us for our 1st annual kids mini-triathlon for Worldwide Shelters. This is a great opportunity for kids to help other kids who are in need. A fun-filled educational day for all. No experience is necessary. Thank you for your support!

It's that simple. Worldwide Shelters is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Howard County, Maryland. Worldwide Shelters mission is to provide humanitarian support to people in critical need of adequate shelter through advocacy, support and innovation. Worldwide Shelters raises money to donate transitional shelter and passionately advocates for the transitional shelter solution. What is transitional shelter? The current shelter provided by Worldwide Shelters is the Series 1100. A transitional shelter means, when the steel frame is covered with a tarp or canvas, it can serve as basic accommodation in the immediate wake of a disaster AND later become the frame for a more permanent home. For more info, visit www.worldwideshelters.org. Course Descriptions Trikers(3-5): the little guys can participate too! We'll have shallow water activities, trikes, and obstacles to boot. Triers(5-6): 25 meter swim (1 pool length), .75 mile bike, and .5 mile run Tripps (7-8): 50 meter swim, 1.5 mile bike, and .5 mile run Tricks (9-10): 75 meter swim, 1.5 mile bike, and 1 mile run Tritons (11-12): 100 meter swim, 1.5 mile bike, and 1 mile run Heats will be divided by age and gender. Each child will receive an event T-shirt and participant medal at the finish line! Lunch buffet is also included. More details to come via email for registered participants.
