The MINI COW TRI CLUB is bringing it’s unique brand of multisport to Marriotsville, Maryland, on June 24, in the form of a new youth aquathlon. The inaugural Splash & Dash at Waverly Woods has been selected to be one of the first events in the new USA Triathlon Splash and Dash Youth Aquathlon Series, a fun and fast-growing sport combining swimming and running. The series' focus is on introducing children to the exciting world of multisport through high-fun, low-cost events.
Children will swim and run one of two distances based on their age on race day. Children in the 7-8 and 9-10 age groups will swim 100 meters and run 1 kilometer (.62 miles), while children in the 11-12 and 13-15 year old age groups will swim 200 meters and run 2 kilometers (1.24 miles). The age on race day rule and race distances are set by USA Triathlon. In addition to post race refreshments, each Splash & Dash at Waverly Woods finisher will receive a commemorative race tee, finisher medal and an experience they won't soon forget. The Splash & Dash at Waverly Woods takes place on Sunday, June 24, at the Waverly Woods Swim Club in Marriotsville, MD. Registration is open and is just $25.
