Welcome to the 30th Annual San Diego International Triathlon! This race is one of the longest standing triathlons in the country and hopefully a favorite. We hope you will join us in celebrating the 30th Anniversary while support St. Vincent De Paul Village!
The race benefits St. Vincent de Paul Village, a member of Father Joe’s Villages, America’s #1 rehabilitation center for the homeless and needy in San Diego. For more info visit www.svdpv.org
Swim 1k, Bike 30k, Run 10k
International Distance Course Description
Calm (no surf) 1,000 meter swim at Spanish Landing Park on San Diego Bay. Water temperature will be approximately 64 - 66 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. "Hilly" 30 kilometer bike to Cabrillo National Monument and back. Flat 10 kilometer point-to-point run along Harbor Island and the Embarcadero. Finish at Embarcadero Marina Park North behind Seaport Village.
For both distance there will be multiple wave starts that will be set 5-10 minutes apart. The wave start times that will be posted are APPROXIMATE times. Wave starts may be early or delayed. Please make sure to be at the swim start at least 20 minutes prior to your approximate wave start time.

Overnight Bike Racking
For the 2012 San Diego International Triathlon- only specific age groups will be allowed to pre-race their bikes on Saturday for overnight bike racking. These groups will be designated 10 days prior to the event and will be posted on our website and final confirmation email.
2012 Race Features
The 2012 race features chip timing and a post-race party with refreshments, beer garden, live entertainment and an awards ceremony. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A TECHNICAL T-SHIRT AND "VIRTUAL GOODIE BAG. Finishers will receive a 30th Anniversary Finisher Medal. Awards to the top three finishers in each category for the International & Sprint Distances. Points for the KOZ Multisport Points Series (triathlon only) to the top 10 individual finishers in division categories.

Pre-Race Check In Information
ALL Participants must attend the mandatory pre-race expo to pick up their own race materials. We do not allow friends or family members to pick up your race materials for you. ID's are mandatory at the expo. Please arrive prepared.
Please pick up your bib at the expo first, and then go to the transition area to rack your bike. Those who do not check-in on Saturday and do not chose the Mail Back or VIP check-in option, must pay a late check-in fee of $10.00 on race morning.
Pre-Race Check In
Check-in is on Sat. June 23 at Spanish Landing Park from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. All race participants must attend and turn in their bike at that time (bikes will be zip-tied to bike racks and security will watch them overnight). Entrants will sign the race waiver, pick up race numbers, t-shirt and get information on the race.
Mail Back Option
For a fee of $15- Receive your race materials, EXCEPT FOR YOUR TIMING CHIP AND T-SHIRT, in the mail at least 5 days prior to the race. You DO NOT need to attend the pre-race check-in. Your timing chip will be available for you at the VIP booth on race morning. You will need to return a signed waiver by mail and pick up your t-shirt at the finish line.
Be a VIP, for a fee of $30, your race numbers, swim cap and t-shirt will be ready for your pick-up on race morning. All you will need to do is check-in on race morning at the VIP check-in area, where you will sign a waiver and pick up your race materials then go to your reserved bike rack in the transition area and get ready to race!

Refund & Transfer Policy
Partial refunds and transfers are available. Cancel by February 15th and receive a refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. After February 16th receive a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee. Once the race sells out, refunds will not be offered. You may transfer your entry to the 2013 event or to another person up until June 10th.
To transfer your entry to the 2012 event or to another person, you must download a San Diego Triathlon Series Transfer Form at www.kozenterprises.com. Transfer from must be received or postmarked by the June 10th deadline. There is a $20 transfer fee for all transfers.
