Two mile run through historic downtown Gretna, transition to a ten mile out and back bike ride along river road and then over Mississippi River on the Crescent City Connection bridge, finish with an out and back two mile run along the mighty Mississippi river overlooking the New Orleans skyline and the bridge you just conquered.
Start your race under a canopy of 100 year old oak trees along the historic Huey P. Long Ave. and pass the turn of the century St. Josephs church complex before transitioning onto your bike under the cover of the Gretna Farmers Market. From the market head out along river road making your way to the Crescent City Connection bridge where you will have a panoramic view of the French Quarter, Jackson Square and the central business district of New Orleans. Return on the same route to start you final leg along the top of the levee of the mighty Mississippi River as you run out and back with a view of downtown New Orleans and the bridge you just conquered. Coarse is completely closed to vehicular traffic with full police and medical support and multiple aid stations. After the race you will enjoy food, drink and music at the riverfront concluding with an awards ceremony. Packet pick up will be held in conjunction with the Gretna Art Walk and the Gretna Market displaying the the work of dozens of local artist and craftsmen. Age group, relay, and mountain (recreational) bike divisions.

USAT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP DUATHLON
United States Triathlon recently named the Bridgeman104 Duathlon the Louisiana State Championship Duathlon. While the race remains first timer friendly there should also be some serious competition to be crowned State Champion.
