Starts Location

8:00 AM
Lake Freebird
1800 W. 13th Street
Mountain Grove, MO 65711

Contact Information:

The course is set in the beautiful Ozarks. It begins and ends at a private residence and man-made lake. The race always proves to be both fun and challenging. You're welcome to swim in the lake after the race. There may even be water skiing.

Swim Course:

Regular Tri:
You will swim in a triangle. You will swim along the shoreline to the first buoy passing the two docks. You will turn right at the first buoy and swim across the lake to the second large orange buoy. You will again turn right and proceed to the boat ramp to exit to the transition area.

Beginners Tri:
You will swim along the shore to the first large buoy but instead of crossing the lake to the second orange buoy you will turn and return to the boat ramp to exit to the transition area.

Bike Course:

Regular Tri:
You will exit the transition area down a sharp hill turning right onto 13th Street. You will stay on 13th Street to the first stop sign. At the stop sign you will turn right onto Busch Street.

Due to safety concerns we do not travel on Business 60 but cross Business 60, were there will be Police traffic control. You will cross Business 60 and proceed on Busch to the first street that turns right which is First Street. First Street parallels Business 60. There are two sharp hills with the second of these hills having very rough patches of asphalt on the right-hand side of the road. Use caution.

First Street then curves back around into Business 60 at about 2.5 miles. You will then turn left and cross-over Business 60 on the overpass. You will take the very first right which is Coke Road. This will be at approximately mile 3.

You will then stay on Coke Road for the next 4 miles. Coke Road twists and winds through the country but the roads going off of Coke are gravel. There will be volunteers all along the bike route. You will turn around at mile 7 going back the exact way that you came. Please remember the bad hill by the golf course although the broken asphalt will now be in the left lane.

Beginners Tri:
You will follow the exact course as the Regular Tri except you will turn around 2 miles earlier. There will be individuals stationed at mile 5 to turn you around. The total distance for the Beginners Triathlon on the bike is 10 miles.

Run Course:

Regular Run:
At the transition from the bike you will go directly over the dam making a complete loop around the lake and passing the transition area, exiting the property at the same point on 13th Street that you did on the bike. You will then stay on 13th Street to the same stop sign were you turned right on the bike. At the Doctors Clinic were you parked you will turn right and run down the sharp hill back to the lake. At the bottom of the hill you will then proceed straight to the far side of the lake. Running around the far side of the lake you will finish by coming in the opposite direction across the dam to where you started. The finish line is there at the transition area.

Beginners Run:
You will do one loop around the lake and will not exit the property.

Lion's Pride 5K:

You will then stay on 13th Street to the stop sign were you will turn right. At the Doctors Clinic were you parked you will turn right and run down the sharp hill back to the lake. At the bottom of the hill you will then proceed straight to the far side of the lake.
