Vibha Milwaukee Dream Mile 2012 is a professionally timed 10K/5K run and 5K fun walk fundraising event organized and run solely by volunteers. Funds raised from this event will go to charity organizations in India and Milwaukee supporting underprivileged children.
The Dream Mile ... a few miles for a million dreams is Vibha's flagship fundraiser.
Started in 1998 by the Altanta action center, Dream Mile has raised over $800,000 in revenue and supported over 50,000 children (national figure). In 2011, Dream Mile was recognized as the [Bad Link]
More Information on the Venue
Veterans Park is situated at Milwaukee Lakefront and is a tranquil park that is green to the core and a perfect place for family picnics and outings. With popular places like Lake Michigan, Milwaukee art museum and Discovery World just around the corner and the Oakleaf trail crossing though the grassy area, the park has everything that could contribute to a perfect event.

10K runners starts at the picnic shed near the Veterans park kite shop and stays on the Oakleaf Bike Trail (Old-76 Bike Tour) for nearly 3 miles , running along the paddleboat lagoon, Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery world. At this point, the runners go south towards the Hank Aaron State Trail and loop through the Lakeshore state park back to the Discovery World. Runners then comes back north to the Veterans Park to the finish line. The entire course is paved and is mostly flat.

Refunds
If the event is cancelled due to insufficient registration or other circumstances deemed appropriate by the organizers, the full registration fee will be refunded.
