This is a new race this summer which will take place at the WakeMed Soccer Park, and, since it will be run on the course used in many high school and college cross-country meets, it is an excellent opportunity for harriers to test their fitness before the cross-country season begins.

Race Management
The race is being managed by the Carolina Family Practice and Sports Medicine in Cary. On May 2, 2011, tragedy struck the Carolina Family Practice and Sports Medicine family when Amy Diaz, one of our beloved employees, suffered the heartbreaking loss of her beautiful and charismatic baby daughter Bella Rose to the dreadful mystery that is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS.
Awards
Awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall and to the top three finishers in the following age groups: (both sexes) 6-under, 7-13, 14-17 (high school). 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-over.
Benefitting Charity
To honor Bella Rose, Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine is working with the help of the CJ SIDS Foundation to organize the first annual Bella Rose Strides for Babies 5k. Proceeds from the event will help promote research and awareness for the terrible mystery that is SIDS.
