The Walker County/Piney Woods American Heart Association committee is proud to offer it's first 5K fun run/walk. We would like to extend to you an opportunity to team up in the effort to help find a cure for a growing epidemic--heart disease and stroke.
Heart disease is this country's No.1 killer. But, by exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk. The goal of the Walker County/Piney Woods American Heart Association committee is to encourage our community to: Walk more. Eat better. Live a longer, healthier life. With the help of our sponsors, the American Heart Association is able to raise millions of dollars each year to fund research and educational programs nationwide to help keep our family, friends, and neighbors heart healthy. Approximately every 33 seconds an American will suffer some type of coronary event and almost every minute, someone will die from it.
