Saturday, June 16, 2012 is the 13th annual Dad’s Day 5K, 3K and 1K kid’s Run/Walk in downtown Houston, TX.
The event is hosted by the TexUs Too, the Houston Chapter of Us Too International, the international grassroots, registered 501(c)(3) non-profit prostate cancer education and support network. There are 325 support group chapters worldwide, providing men and their families with free information, materials and peer-to-peer support so they can make informed choices on detection, treatment options and coping with ongoing survivorship. The organization was founded in 1990 by five men who had been treated for prostate cancer.
On Race Day, survivors, their families and friends, and local businesses come together to achieve two goals:
- Raise funds for local education and support
- Increase awareness about prostate cancer
Celebrate Fathers Day weekend by participating, volunteering or contributing to the cause. Honor your dad, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friends.

June 15th, 2012 @ 6:00 pm CDT Please click the green "Register Now" button to create and register as part of your team. Once your team has been created please advise your team members to REGISTER and JOIN your TEAM. Please click on the green "Register Now" button to register. On the registration form, select your Team name from the drop down list of teams and continue with your registration. If you do NOT see your teams name in the drop down list please contact your team captain. Please click on the green "Register Now" button to register and pay. The course is on flat, concrete, city streets, USAT&F sanctioned and certified road race, TX08027ETM.
6:30 am – Packet Pickup Opens (no race day registrations)
7:30 am – Opening Ceremony
7:45 am – Kid’s 1k Starts
8:00 am – 5k Run Starts
8:05 am – 3k Family Walk Starts
8:10 am – Refreshments Open (Post race party)
9:00 am – Awards Ceremony Begins
10:00 am – Close
All kids (12 and under) who finish will WIN a commerative medal. Trophies for the top 3 kids.
