The annual race / walk is Beaver County's premier race event and uses a scenic route through the historic neighborhoods of Beaver PA. All intersections are manned by police, fire fighters, and community volunteers to avoid problems between cars and race participants.
All children under 12 receive a medal just for finishing. The top three finishers in each age group win medals. Trophies are awarded to the top three overall men and women finishers. There are no separate awards for walkers. If registering before May 14, 2012, please select the correct early registration form for which race ( 5K or 10K ) AND for which type of shirt ( cotton or technical). The $15 early registration is our traditional cotton t-shirt or choose $25 early registration to upgrade to a running "Technical" shirt that are being introduced as an option, for an additional $10. These shirts alone can retail for over $30. We do our best to accommodate every participant with a shirt and even the correct size shirt after May 7 but unfortunately we cannot guarantee due to advance time needed by our suppliers. Technical shirts are only available for registrations prior to May 7. Age groups are : 12 and under 13-15 years old 16-19 years old 20-24 years old 25-29 years old 30-34 years old 35-39 years old 40-44 years old 45-49 years old 50-54 years old 55-59 years old over 60 Awards ceremony will immediately follow the race. Water and fruit will be provided. In the event of dangerous weather conditions, the race maybe delayed but will be held that day. No refunds are issued for any reason. May 29, 2012 RACE COMMITTEE UPDATE Due to the terrific participation so far, we are already SOLD OUT of small shirts. Mediums, larges, and only a few XLs remain.
