Welcome to the 6th Annual BEAR LAKE BRAWL Triathlon, a Gold Medal Racing event! Get your competitive juices flowing as you take on your fellow competitors in a beautiful setting along the shores of Bear Lake. Both Sprint and Olympic distances are offered. A great event to start off your late summer celebrations. Bring the whole family for a great time!
The Bear Lake State Park charges a $8 park entrance fee to enter the park. This fee is waved if you have a volunteer in the car.

Olympic & Sprint Dates August 25, 2012
The Olympic and Sprint Dates will be August 25, 2012 and will be on a different date then the Half Iron 70.3 event on September 8, 2012.

The Half Iron 70.3 date will now be September 8, 2012 and on a different date then the Olympic and Sprint on August 25, 2012.
USAT Requirements
USAT requires all participants to either have a 1-Day membership with them $10 included in your registration fee or a $40 Annual Membership with them that saves you $10 off each USAT Sanctioned event . All Annual USAT members must show their Annual Card or pay the $10 day fee prior to picking up their race packet. Photo ID will be required of all participants at packet pick-up as well. No one can pick up for another racer.
Sprint/Olympic Registration Fees
SAVE NOW! Register EARLY and save $10! Sprint/Olympic EARLY REGISTRATION - $70.00 until June 17th, Regular Registration - $80.00 until July 29th, and Late Registration - $90.00 until we sell out. We try to close the race one to two weeks early to organize packets and get the t-shirts ordered. DO NOT WAIT!!! Registration may close early if race is filled to capacity of 650 participants.
Half Iron 70.3 Registration Fees

Swim
Sprint -- 750 meters; Olympic -- 1500 meters; Half -- 1.2Miles. Triangular course marked with yellow/orange buoys. Waist deep start; Depth of swim never exceeds more than 7-8 feet and the water is crystal clear (excellent for beginners!) Water temperatures will be in the upper 60's, so wetsuits are highly recommended. Course will be guarded with personal watercraft and boats, and swim will be separated in groups no larger than 100 swimmers to ensure your safety. See webpage for details.
Bike
Sprint: 12.4 miles, Olympic: 24.8 miles, Half: 56 miles. The bike course is a gorgeous course with rolling hills and some flats that travels along the east shores of the lake. This course is challenging but forgiving and is likely to give you PR times. Spectacular scenery awaits you! See the event webpage for course map and details.
Run
Sprint: 5k, Olympic 10k, Half 13.1 Miles. The run course is through the campground on paved surfaces and along an untraveled dirt road surrounded with vegetation, making for a very unique, spectator/family friendly course. Aid Stations will be set up for particpants at miles 1 and 2, as well as near the transition area for the sprint distance, Miles 1,2, 4, and 5 for the Olympic distance. Half Run
Aid Stations will be every 2 miles on the Half Run start Mile 2. There will be a restroom at Mile 4 and 8. There will be extra fuel at the Half Distance Run. See website http://www.bearlakebrawl.com for details.
Accommodations
Event Host cabins are available at http://www.cabinsatbearlake.com/bearlakebrawl.html. Also camp sites are available in Rendezvous Beach State Park to put you and your family right in the middle of the action! There are other bed and breakfast locations available. See website for details!
Other Details
The Bear Lake Brawl Triathlon is a great FAMILY FRIENDLY event. Bring the whole family to cheer you on as you compete against your fellow racers. Many fun activities are being planned, including pre-reserved camp sites at Rendezvous Beach, on the run course for great cheering! State Park Fees
The Bear Lake State Park charges a $8 entrance fee to enter the park. We have arranged for all volunteers to enter the park for free on race day. We recommend everyone to carpool to avoid the extra fee or go with a volunteer. Parking is limited as well. We will pre-charge the $8 fee at packet pickup if you choose.
Ultra Full Distance Postponded until 2013
We were excited to announce the Full Distance for 2012 but knew we were late in starting registrations for such a distance based on lack of time for participants to train. Due to lack of registrations we will postpone this race until 2013 and give one of two options to registered 2012 participants. One full refund. Two credit towards Half Distance the same day and credit towards the 2013 Full Distance.
