Our Wine County Bike Trek is well established and one of the most popular cycling events in Santa Barbara County. The entire ride takes place in the Santa Ynez Valley wine country. Riders will have a choice of signing up for a three day ride, June 29 through July 1 with camping for two nights at Midland School in Los Olivos, or a one day ride on Saturday, June 30. Our goal is a minimum of 150 riders.
Choose a Three-Day or One-Day Ride
Our three-day ride begins at Hans Christian Andersen Park in Solvang, Friday, June 29. We'll transport your camping gear to our campsite as you begin your scenic tour of the Santa Ynez Valley. Choose a 30 or 50-mile route each day. Volunteers will greet you every ten miles with fully catered rest stops. One-day-riders begin and end at our campsite in Los Olivos and take a 30 or 50-mile route on Saturday, June 30.
Sleep under the stars in Los Olivos and after your ride, get ready for some unbelievable dinner feasts. Meals will include a traditional pasta dinner on Friday complete with salad and garlic bread and on Saturday a tri-tip and chicken barbecue plus a vegetarian option. The barbecue is compliments of the Santa Barbara Suburban Kiwanis - a donation they have made for 28 years! Santa Ynez Valley wines will be provided free of charge at both dinners and after dinner it’s music time…kick back and relax or kick up your heels and dance to local bands, including Foggy Dew on Friday and Studio C Saturday night.
On Sunday, your final ride will end back at Hans Christian Andersen Park in Solvang. We will once again have an old-fashioned picnic barbecue - hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, fresh fruit and plenty of pasta salad with veggies donated by Buellton Rotary Club. We guarantee you'll walk away with new friends and fantastic memories of your weekend in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The Spirit of the Wine County Bike Trek is community, family, and friends.
It’s about taking what you thought you knew about yourself and the world and looking at it again, from a new perspective—a perspective where, suddenly, what you thought were only hopes or ideals are real. You may doubt that 150 people will be able to make a difference in the lives of those in need But They Will.
