A scenic timed 50 and 100 mile road ride from Salida to Granite ( Past Buena Vista ) and back. Starts and finishes at senic Riverside park in Salida. Post event party / awards ceremony starts at 1 PM.
A very moderate 4,700 feet of vertical in the 100. 2,200 feet of gain for the 50. $15 from every entry will be donated to a combined 3 local charities.

Wilderness Aware Rafting located at the headwaters of the Arkansas River and the new Vuelta a Salida a 50 and 100 mile timed “fondo” style cycling event have announced a partnership in association with the August 18th event. By simply going to the Vuelta a Salida web site at www.vueltaasalida.com you can download a coupon that will give you a free day on the river if you reserve three friends. Additionally all participants of the Vuelta a Salida will receive a free ½ day of rafting during the remainder of the 2012 season.
