Diary of a new marathon runner

I put some new shoes on...

Well, it seems like the new shoes and inserts might have done the trick! I ran 3 miles on Sunday morning and I still feel good. I didn't have any pain during the run or after it, despite a 3 hour trek around local neighborhoods looking for our first house. I'm running 3 tomorrow to see how it holds up again and if all is well, I'll do my 3 mile loop on Thursday in Rockville, Maryland where I'm attending a conference.

Joe N.'s Gravatar Adam,

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Are the shoes and inserts still helping?

A thought for the website... Is it possible to get an elevation profile for the route? How about elevation along the route on the map, maybe at peaks and valleys...?

How is the training for the half in August going?

Adam Howitt's Gravatar Hey Joe,
You wouldn't believe how much better I feel with the new shoes and inserts. This week I've been able to get in all my training runs with my wife of 4.5, 3, 4.5 miles on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively with a 7 mile run planned tomorrow as part of the half marathon plan. I'll know for sure tomorrow if I'm truly back on track but it looks like I will be.

As for the elevation plan, I currently record the height of each piece of your run but haven't put the graph piece together yet. It's on the list of features but behind some other enhancements that have been often requested. I'll see what I can get done this coming week...
